Sorry for the lecture - I just try to be green and planet friendly. Maybe Aussie lass isnt as bothered about this as I am.
I don't post here but I read each day and I think your remark was nasty and uncalled for. From what she posts aussielass is very environmentally aware and what you wrote was unfair to her. Out of interest how does eating fish imported from vietnam fit with you being green and planet friendly?Life is too short to waste a minute of it complaining about bad luck. Find joy in the simple things, show your love for those around you and be grateful for all that you have.0 -

Seems every time I do venture to post here someone is reading nastiness where none is intended. Back to lurk mode forever I fear..:rolleyes:What Would Bill Buchanan Do?0 -
Just having a coffee for 5 mins rest;)
Have packed a bag for DS,OH and myself after ironing a ton of stuff.
Now I have to pack DS books, magnetic numbers for the fridge, various clocksand primeval things.
Also have to get organised later with a packed lunch for DS for tomorrow and he also needs breakfast stuff in a lunch bag ready for Sun morning (we are staying in hotel on sat night halfway to break journey up and i cant guarantee that they will have DS`s make of breakfast:rolleyes:)
Whilst I was up and down stairs packing DS has worked his way through a 6 pack of Mini rolls:eek: he "persuaded" me to buy when we popped to the shop for milk ...just found all wrappers on the floor...that will teach me to take my eyes off him for more than a minute.
Fatcat mooching about as she knows "somethings up" and the cattery is on the cards:cool:
Beemuzed i had that predicament yesterday when OH and I were not well....we are both better today...I would say if it feels like a summer cold and there is no pyrexia of 38 or above then it prob isnt Swine flu.....it is a bit awkward tho trying to decide.
PTT I dont really think Reverbe meant it to be nasty, she was just saying her bit about why to choose certain types of fish. Sometimes people read too much into what people write.
Reverbe dont let anyone put you off....you are entitled to an opinion0 -
I hate getting involved with arguments online but I can't stop myself this time. I am afraid that I have seen Reverbe's postings on a number of threads, not just OS and it seems to me that a great many are phrased in a way that people take exception to. Very often Reverbe then says she or he didn't mean to be nasty. Maybe not but if it were me I would perhaps be questioning the way I put things to cause offence so many times.0

Hi everyone,
Thought I'd better post something a little more OS.
Happy birthday Haribo, Hermoine and Sunnygirl.
Halight, I hope your headaches get better soon and that you get to see your consultant in the near future.
FE I thought of you yesterday, I'm glad things are going well with the baby, sorry about your dad though - bittersweet eh?
This weekend OH and I will be trying to finish the hall, stairs and landing paintwork because we have a new carpet coming next week.
Also have a huge pile of laundry and the ironing mountain I didn't get to this week. Need to fit in time to walk the dog as well.0 -
Ohhhhh I never knew that what I was having for dinner would cause such a stir
, but I do know that Aussie is very 'green and planet friendly' (as you put it Reverbe) so much so that she would not eat the fish cos it was from Vietman and so would cause many more air miles than necessary.
I must say I agree with Snoozer, Reverbe, you are either being very clever with your wording so as to upset people, and then sitting back and watch the fireworks, or not thinking at all before posting, either way I think you like the reaction it causes.0 -
Fairy Elephant, fab news about your LO, glad all is ok, and I'm sorry to hear about your dad, hopefully being somewhere he can get the care and help he needs will do wonders xx
sistercas - hope your nephew recovers quickly and your sis can get out there soon. Enjoy your new shower, at least nobody went through your floor due to the leak, oh has only just regained full movement after his accident!
redruby - enjoy your dinner! I did wonder what that fish was, saw it advertised somewhere the other day and had never heard of it, not surprising since it comes from Vietnam though I guess! My dd2 is determined to try lots of fish on her hols, which is great cos it's only dd1 who eats it here, so at least it'd be worth cooking a bit more if she enjoys it!
Right best go finish the kids bathroom and then get ready, kids dad will be here soon and I need to be off to oh's once I've done the handover, else I'll be stuck doing dinner!
Enjoy your evening everyone xxGC Oct £387.69/£400, GC Nov £312.58/£400, GC Dec £111.87/£4000 -
Fairy Elephant - my parents cared for my grandma in her own home (living with her on a rota basis for 18 months) when her dementia got too bad for her to safely live alone, then found a home for her when they just couldn't cope - even with me & my sis helping. It was a hard thing for my mum to do, as she promised her dad she would look after grandma, but there does come a time when families can't cope with the level of care needed by dementia sufferers. Hope your dad's doing OK.
Plans for this aft went to pot - just got back in from an emergency job for DH - so soup & bread not made, DH fetching fish & chips home for tea. Not very OS - must try harder tomorrow! Did get 4 loads of washing done, though, & not spent money on anything else except tea, so it could have been worse!July 2024 GC £0.00/£400
