£12.49pm Broadband and Phone Line???

sorry meant to have typed 18mth.
There is a BT box in the house, so why is there no line??
There is also an NTL box and I think Virgin was installed previously.
So I guess teh only way is with the Post Office then cancel as suggested....
If your going to do it that way you might aswell pay the £100 to tiscali to reconnect your line and miss the £60 quidco and pay tiscali the £14.99pm.
if you go via the post office i think they charge £125 to reconnect then 1 months line rental, so that virtually wipes out any benefit of the tiscali quidco, and you have all the hassle of changing from the po to tiscali.0 -

Yeah I agree with above. As long as things are kept simple you should have no problems switching to Tiscali. Definately the best value ISP. Un-limited downloads (yeah I know 100gb cap/month...thats a lot) up to 8mb speed. Free line rental. 12 month contract. Don't expect this offer will last long now that they are part of talk talk. I switched from Sky without a hitch and so far so good. :T0 -
So over a year at £14.99pm and £100 connection that equals £23.30 a month
So I have two options really:
Go on an 18mth contract with Bt and waiver the reconnection, I will then use my o2 BB at my parents and get it transferred over or
Look for a TV, Line and BB for ~£25pm. Any ideas??0 -
Hi, I just move home myself and got my phone line reactivated by post office for free. Basically this is what happened to me :I called them on last Friday and inquired about the homephone only package. They told me that I have a 'stop line' on my bt landline so I might not have to pay any reactivation charges.
But they did tell me that in case it is not a simple line activation, an engineer might be needed to come to my house and check the line. They promised to call in 48 hours to inform me about this and any fee that may incurred. By then, I have options not to follow up if I dont agree with the fee.
I got my line activated in a week (apply on the 17th, line active on 24th), as they promise me in the welcome pack, got no problem at all and its free. Im really impressed with them (post office) so I decided to stay with them for line rental and got O2 for broadband instead with talktalk (my original plan is to switch to talktalk after I got my landline activated).
Hope it helps but go and try give them a call, its 0800 number anyway0 -

Have you not considered broadband dongle? Three are offering some decent deals at the moment.0

broadband dongles IME have always been slow,
I will try the Post Office as suggested Siaupai, that is good to know0 -
I have just phoned the PO and they have confirmed that the line is a 'Wholesale New Line' so would incur a charge of £107 to reactivate the line.
Looks like I will have to go for a TV, BB and phone package. Any links or good deals I can go to save asking in the 'Internet Access' section?0 -
