Good morning all,

Seems like there's been quite a heated discussion going on....

From my own (limited) personal experience, if I'd known about Al-Anon while I was in that relationship, I would probably have clung to it like a liferaft. And I can understand the 'evangelising' aspect. After all, if I have been saved from drowning by finding AA or Al-Anon, why wouldn't I want everyone that I see out there in the open ocean to come aboard my liferaft? So how do I deal with people who insist that it's their right to stay floating in the ocean and find their own way?

Hope that makes sense. I believe that the AA/Al-Anon people do have others' interests at heart, but sometimes it can come across as 'preachy'. And sometimes there genuinely is another way that can work as well for some people.

morning, i aint had done either beer i ve been doing some study work-sound dead posh, it aint. decided weather to take that office job or not. weather to wait for my police check to come through and go backinto care work. im gunna phone the working links place in a mo and see if they got me on the councilling coruse. if so i think ill wait for the police check as care work will fot in with meetings and college.
