jayne.doe wrote:its annoying i hate being so emotional i am up one minute and really low the next. I have tried to think why. I think it coz every stress worrying situation i have i cope by drinking. I never allow myself to feel any emotion i just numb it with drink and finally i dont think. Trouble was the emotions were obviously still there coz towards the end i was crying and i couldnt remember why.:) Now i am feeling the emotion and having to deal with it there and then and not rely on booze and thats why i think i am finding it so difficult im just not used to it yet.:) does that make sense or am i just strange.... dont answer that ......:)
OMG ....there is another me on here!...I'm being serious btw ..not taking the pee......you are my doppleganger!
It feels 'easier' at the time to blot emotions out ...however you do it...but I always find I feel soo much worse afterwards.....and I really AM my harshest critic:rolleyes:
I think you are doing well Jayne....keep it up hun...take care XXX0 -
its amazing chris i was worried about writing that i am so glad you said you felt the same
I read the old posts and i dont know these people yet i do the same thing as they did with drink. Thats when i thought !!!! you have a problem:) i am my harshest critic .......................... spooky
thankyou how are you doing? 0 -
Don't worry jayne, I feel sort of the same.
To me dealing with the physical side of drinking is only half of it. More difficult for some, is dealing with the emotions side of it, like you say.
Alcohol helps you to deal with them ,so you don't have to deal with them properly. The first time I gave up for 2 weeks, I thought I was going to explode, I've slowly got better at dealing with them for longer periods.
Hi Al, at work tonight?“Pleasure of love lasts but a moment, pain of love lasts a lifetime.”0 -

Doing ok at the mo;)
Know what you mean though..it is difficult learning to deal with your 'real' emotions..i.e. not the ones when you are drunk and fuddled etc....:o
Trust me...I give myself such a harsh time sometimes...that even my best mate...who I've known longer than she cares to remember
and who I personnally find to be a harsh critic at times...and I tell her so!....tells be to go easy on myself...and back off....give myself a break etc etc etc...so I must be bad!
I know exactly were you are coming from....singing from the same hymn sheet hun;) ....maybe not in tune....apparently ...(according to others...sounds good in my head though:p) XX Take Care XX0 -

Hi Al, at work tonight?
Yep, the physical is only part of it aint it...(a pretty big part I find...but I am sure when I am past that bit....the rest will be a bigger 'challenge';) )
Well done so far x0 -
Mostly no, sometimes yes. I said earlier, driving home at 2 this morning I could so easily have gone to the 24 hour Tesco:o Lasted a couple of seconds, not sure that 2 second feeling will ever go:mad:jayne.doe wrote:You have and are doing really well al.

I'm off to watch some telly...and veg and think about nothing...:D ....
Have to say, with not drinking....I am going to bed at a reasonable hour and getting more sleep:D still knackered mind....and still getting woken up by chewbacca at stupid hours of the morning and the magpie with the personality disorder:mad: (that's the rather BIG dog at the back of my house...I swear he sounds like he's talking! and the magpie thinks it's a woodpecker and my guttering is a tree.....at 4 in the morning when you are half asleep and think someone's knocking hell out of your front door...it's a bit unsettleing!
Anyway....night night XX Have a good evening...and a good weekend if I don't get online XX0
