Alcohol self help thread II

Hi guys my grandfather was an alcoholic, my sister has issues with drink alcoholic? i dunno. My uncle is a diabetic- he drank to huge excess and is nearly blind now. So i suppose there could be a genetic disposition towards alcoholism in my family. However do you not think we are all a bit like superman with his kyptonite - we all have weaknesses- I have a friend who eats ways too much chocolate, she s a chocoholic, morbidly obese. Another who is a shopoholic more cc`s than she has room for in her purse, gonna end in tears!!. I have another friend that is just bone idle, lazy to the point where it drives you mad but in the 7 years i have known him he has never changed.
dunno just a thought.

I think its just because of the long winter nights.
Had something to eat, feeling a bit more human now. Only a bit though

And presumably, now you do have the spiritual help/belief, whatever it is, you don't have an alcohol problem? Or you do, but you can cope with it?“Pleasure of love lasts but a moment, pain of love lasts a lifetime.”0 -

If you were a "normal" having a bottle of wine between two people would be great, glad you are switched on enough to know you can't just do that though. Anyway its not a lovely bottle of white wine, its a bottle that would bring death and pain to you, maybe not to everyone, but to you it would.
Sorry to keep going on about the health thing, but you saw what that doctor said, "its not a nice quiet death either".“Pleasure of love lasts but a moment, pain of love lasts a lifetime.”0 -
yeh i know beer, love the abuse on the other thread which one so i can read and have a chuckle hee hee. Sorry to hear you are feeling crap it must be hell to do both, i only smoked when i drank too much. Actually then thinking about it smoked a bloody lot:) I felt a lot better this morning and feel a bit stressed tonite but nothing to do with booze, just son!!!!! I have a bad headache again, but just thought on why, because i am not drinking enough water!!!:) I am having to learn to deal with my stress in others way ie by just coping, and not having a drink. Its new but i will learn.0
