Feeling a bit down today.I`ve got to go for blood tests to see if my liver and kidneys have decided to join my heart on strike.Just so tired all the time.
The worst part is having to fast until they take their armful. No morning coffee and I`m starving.
Still,I caused all this by drinking.Don`t make my mistake.

Good luck with the tests SB:D I'd like to say enjoy your pig out later, but if you're like me, the hunger will have gone by then:mad:

Since I stopped drinking my coffee of a morning has become quite important, two cups now:o

    Morning all.

    You OK today SB?

Taking the outside cover off the ovaltine last night, ready to re-cycle (I was bored;) ), lost my grip, threw it everywhere:o , had taken lid off ready to make a drink:eek:

My father rang at 7 this morning. You rang last night, nope, you did. Turns out Mrs Mac did, my father has now taken to panicing about me:mad: A might phone now has to be a phone, a missed call is something must be wrong:eek:

OK I did scare them, Mrs Mac isn't panicing, and has told them all I'm OK, but worry is the name of the game:mad:

So it looks like life is now no drinking and my family thinking I'm !!!!!! and about to top myself:rotfl: I might emigrate without telling anyone;)

I`m fine today thanks.Just a bit of a hole in my elbow joint.(don`t you love it when the nurse goes "oops" and blood runs down your arm!).I`ve never seen blood that dark.It was almost black. My ex-wife is a theatre nurse and says it sounds like it`s low on oxygen. That would explain the tiredness. That and the heart failure. Results should be back by the end of the week.
Looking forwards to my 5 years sober in August.
Just heard on planet rock news. The Russians are going to put up the tax on perfume because the alkies are drinking it instead of vodka.I didn`t get quite that bad, although the cheap white ciders probably didn`t taste any better.

I remember my family panicing when I was late home or something. I knew I was sober and OK and I assumed everybody else did. I was wrong. They didn't, but it didn't stop me feeling hurt at the lack of trust. After a while they began to take it for granted and that hurt as well. Basically there was no satisfying me. For years I had lived numbed to ordinary human emotions. When I came up against them cold stone sober I didn't handle them very well. I needed help to deal with emotions. that's where the programme of AA helped me. So keep at it and be grateful that your family still care

Suffolk, I remember in Glasgow many years ago that there was a hair laquer called Bel Air that was very popular with the local drunks. I know one of them who has been sober for 38 years now

I only caught the end of a piece on LKToday with Lorraine Kelly where she was interviewing someone about alcoholism and the girl said the first step was being truthful to yourself by admitting you have a problem and then you could take the second step of getting help through your GP and/or AA.

Can only find this link from the LKToday website

To brodev and suffolkb, thank you for your posts :)
