    'Afternoon All!

Sunnygirl - hope you start to feel better soon, and that Buster cat comes back soon too.

Halight - That is disgusting of the DWP (but no less than I expect from them - useless bunch of idiots, to put it mildly!). Good luck with the appeal - it sounds like you have a good case.

I must confess I am getting a bit worried about the Piggy Flu now. Was not too worried in work as I am in a separate office away from the main building, but 2 people I was with at a party on Sat have just been diagnosed with it, and another friend says several of her husband's students have it, as well as several people she works with. Also I understand that being pregnant gives me a lower immunity to things like that, so I am worried for the babe-let.

The company still not playing ball over the redundancy procedures  - seem to be twisting things to make it sound like they are doing it right, but I still don't think so, so have contacted a no-win-no-fee employment lawyer and am waiting to hear back. Have another meet with HR on Mon and they are bringing TWO managers with them this time! Looks like I will end up taking them to a tribunal if I can get the lawyer's support, but really could do without the hassle ATM.

Feeling sad today  as my dear old Dad was sectioned under the mental health act this morning, and taken away to a secure unit to be assessed. He has alzheimers and my poor Mum has been coping with him at home for several years but It's getting too much for her. Apparantly even as they all-but dragged him out the door he was insisting there is nothing wrong with him and he wasn't going to stay anywhere overnight! The Social Worker was very kind to Mum and gave her a hug. We know it is for the best for everyone, but it is very hard .

Still very little, OS or otherwise!, going on in the FE House - lots of resting and focussing positive thoughts on the babe-let - another scan tomorrow (7+4) so hopefully it will have grown to the proper size for it's age, and there still won't be any signs of #2 anywhere it shouldn't be.

Has anyone heard anything from Moggins????

    Have a good day All,

    FE

Thanks floss2 & halight - I've been on to ACAS and they think I have a reasonable case - they advised me exactly what info to ask for (in writing) from the company - but the company is hedging ( I don't reckon they actually have the info, they have jumped the gun a bit I think!).

Other than giving me the legal position, and answering my questions on the phone, ACAS said they can't actually do anything more unless (or until!) it gets to the stage that I want to take the company to a tribunal for unfair dismissal or whatever - and they cannot even guarantee being available to attend with me as they are so busy at the moment they are snowed under!!! I guess it's a sympton of the financial climate at the moment.... So they suggested I try any legal advice I can get, for eg. on my house insurance (but I cut down my policy earlier in the year and got rid of the legal assistance - typical!) or try a no-win-no-fee.

Apparantly the no-win-no-fee lawyer is a good ploy - as they only take on cases they are pretty sure of winning - if the compnay knows you have one on your side, they are more likely to settle before it goes that far! (or so a friend who is an HR manager in another firm told me).

I'm also going to tell them on Monday that I am pregnant - it's earlier than I wanted to, but my HR friend reckons that if they are not 100% sure of their position & policies it will probably make them a bit worried, as you have to be very careful how you deal with pregnant ladies from an HR point of view! It can't hurt, as I am 100% sure they are set on getting rid of me anyhow, I'm just trying to string it out longer and get as much as I can out of them - GGRRRRR!!!!!!! FE is on the warpath - BEWARE!

Hi all just having a quick read. I've looked at the side effects of Tamiflu and have decided not to take them  I'd rather manage with co-codamol, fluids & rest.

Halight I am so angry on your behalf   You are so upbeat usually so it must get you down ((hugs)) even though I know you're not a huggy type ;) Could you make an appointment with your GP and take the letter with you? They may be able to intervene on your behalf. Take care of yourself, your lovely wife (I'm very envious of your tea it sounds lovely) and twins xx

FE Sorry to hear about your Dad ((hugs)). Keep up the good work taking it easy etc :D I was thinking about you yesterday as I worry when you haven't posted - don't mean to sound stalkerish :rotfl:

Haribo You are a very formidable lady :D

Snowy Owl Happy Birthday! It's mine on Friday and there has been whispering aplenty going on ;):D

Happy Birthday to Snowy Owl and welcome to Webitha - sorry about DH's job.Have you had a look at Weezl's thread on 50 pence a day healthily? Her lentil pate is scrummy and so cheap.

I Have just made a large pot of sweet potato soup, home made rolls are about to finish proving and have made jelly, fruit and custard in nice Sundae dishes for afters.

DH has cleaned the bathroom the other day, but does not clean the taps or the area underneath the taps so it looks awful. Have now cleaned it myself and also the mirror (he forgets that too!).

    SunnyGirl

Make sure you take the Tamiflu and don't try to get back to normal too early as it comes back for a second or third go of symptoms.

Hugs to everyone and see you later.

    Afternoon folks
Haven't been on here in ages, but now summer hols here so no playschool, etc., so will be back regularly. Baby #5 due in 12 weeks, so a major declutter is underway right now, as I certainly won't have time after & we need to sell/freecycle tons of stuff! :D Also have to defrost freezers, do food stocktake & refill freezers with batch baking/clever shopping etc. for the autumn.
Will pop back later - hope you're all doing OK!

Redruby - the op for your dog isn't anal glands is it? If so, thoughts are changing re whether it actually helps- maybe get a 2nd opinion. If not anal glands, please ignore me

Hi hun :hello: yes it is her anal gland, which is the simple bit of the op, but she also has a hernia, in her bottie :o, and to fix it they will need to take a muscle out of her leg, and insert it in the bum, which only a specalist can do hence the price , hopefully when we go back in a month things will have improved, if they say she does need the op, I will get a 2nd opinion, thanks for the advice xx

Juliettet thanks, I had not thought of the PDSA, will give them a ring if it comes to it xx
