Hi, managed to get to the charity shop to drop off some old clothes. I did buy a jigsaw and a couple of books for DS1. We also went to the library and borrowed some books on slow cooking to get some more ideas. DS2 has gone to Nursery, so I've sorted another couple of boxes of clothes to go to the charity shop. I also organised a load of clothes for the next NCT sale so I'll be able to find them. If I get some spare time I may even iron and label them so I won't be in a rush before the sale. Today is the last day of school for my 2. We've got a whole list of things to do over the hols, including making a dino island for the toys dinosaurs, using lots of papermache, glue, scrap wood and glue.
Hugs to all that need them0 -
Happy birthday Snowy, agree that you should do something wild..
Halight...so sorry that you are getting the runaround....would agree that a letter from your GP might be of some help....just take care of yourself and stay as calm as you can.
Redruby....sorry to hear about doggie....hope that it doesn't come to op, but agree that you have to get it done if advised to do so....from personal experience would say ask lots of questions.
Beth...nice to see you back, hope that you enjoyed Malta.
NPM...hope that OH recovers soon!
Sunnygirl...take care of yourself.
Webitha....welcome to OS...most of us are fine, there are a few lunatics here and there, you will no doubt spot them for yourself after a while!
Mioliere....not much S.flu here either, but am being ultra careful at present as have 3 grandchildren here so am anxious that none of them become ill.
Chicken with broad beans, fennel and new potatoes for dinner to-night...agree with whoever said that good soak in salty water will make veg safe from anything evil slugs may leave, cooking will help too.
Lovely and warm here between the showers which are sudden and heavy...does mean that don't need to water except for greenhouse...clothes seem to dry quite quickly too so have chanced putting out a couple of loads.
Off to make some bread for DD3 and for us, rolls for us I think, prefer fresh yeast but it costs about €2.50 for 200g so have got 125g dried for €1.79 so will use that...spelt flour that I use for DD3 is very expensive so cutting back on yeast is only place I can reduce cost.
Hugs to all in need or want, congratulations to all who are celebrating, have a good day

'Afternoon All!
Sunnygirl - hope you start to feel better soon, and that Buster cat comes back soon too.
Halight - That is disgusting of the DWP (but no less than I expect from them - useless bunch of idiots, to put it mildly!). Good luck with the appeal - it sounds like you have a good case.
I must confess I am getting a bit worried about the Piggy Flu now. Was not too worried in work as I am in a separate office away from the main building, but 2 people I was with at a party on Sat have just been diagnosed with it, and another friend says several of her husband's students have it, as well as several people she works with. Also I understand that being pregnant gives me a lower immunity to things like that, so I am worried for the babe-let.
The company still not playing ball over the redundancy procedures  - seem to be twisting things to make it sound like they are doing it right, but I still don't think so, so have contacted a no-win-no-fee employment lawyer and am waiting to hear back. Have another meet with HR on Mon and they are bringing TWO managers with them this time! Looks like I will end up taking them to a tribunal if I can get the lawyer's support, but really could do without the hassle ATM.
Feeling sad todayas my dear old Dad was sectioned under the mental health act this morning, and taken away to a secure unit to be assessed. He has alzheimers and my poor Mum has been coping with him at home for several years but It's getting too much for her. Apparantly even as they all-but dragged him out the door he was insisting there is nothing wrong with him and he wasn't going to stay anywhere overnight! The Social Worker was very kind to Mum and gave her a hug. We know it is for the best for everyone, but it is very hard
.
Still very little, OS or otherwise!, going on in the FE House - lots of resting and focussing positive thoughts on the babe-let - another scan tomorrow (7+4) so hopefully it will have grown to the proper size for it's age, and there still won't be any signs of #2 anywhere it shouldn't be.
Has anyone heard anything from Moggins????
Have a good day All,

Hi everyone,
Not being terribly OS at the moment but I wanted to wish Snowy a happy birthday.
Halight - best of luck with your appeal. I would be very cross too especially when you read in the papers of people who have pulled the wool over the doctor's eyes and have been receiving thousands in benfeits when they have been carrying on working or doing sports etc.
Fairy Elephant, fingers crosed for the scan, the time seems to be going very fast although I don't suppose you think so.
Will be making S & K pie tonight and while the oven is on a few scones and I will also try to tackle the ironing mountain, but i've been so tired lately its dificult to motivate myself.0 -

Afternoon all.
Happy Birthday Snowyowl.
I'm so very tired today, probably because we went out last night to the cinema, to see "Moon" which we both thoroughly enjoyed, then pub afterwards. Mr LW wants to go to the pub (a different one) tonight, but I'm not sure I'm up to it. :undecided
I have to make some cakes at some point this afternoon - there's none in the tin, and Mr LW will want some for his lunch box tomorrow; it's just raising the energy that's the problem.
Sunnygirl sorry to hear that you have swine flu - I hope the Tamiflu works for you. I have to admit, I think I'd pass on Tamiflu myself - I take so many other drugs for my lupus that I'd worry about it interacting with them and making things worse!
NPM I'm in full agreement with Noah - I don't do parties either!:rotfl:In fact I got neatly out of having to attend a 50th birthday do by virtue of the fact that the celebration is in the chap's DD's first floor flat; there's no lift, and I can't manage stairs!
Halight sorry to hear about your ESA - get an appeal going straight away; they obviously don't understand the situation you're in. Good luck!
I was wondering what to do for dins tonight, but Mr LW just rang, and he's asked for pasta in cheese sauce. So that's that problem solved.:o
I posted on the Great Declutter thread yesterday, and have had some nice messages of encouragement, so I'm going to bite the bullet and turf out the clothes that don't fit me any more. There - I've said it now, so I'll have to do it.:rotfl:
((((HUGS)))) to all who want/need one today. If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0
