It's possible to get 500 bonus points on selected Tesco pre-order DVDs, CDs and blu-ray DVDs. Some of these cost as little as £8.95, meaning convert the points to Tesco Rewards and you're effectively £11 in profit (provided you'd use the Tesco Rewards anyway).

There are currently five items in the offer; the cheapest is are CDs, including Leona Lewis, for £8.95. Instead you can browse top deals*, CDs*, DVDs*, Blu-Rays* and games*. Here are a few examples:

• £8.95 Leona Lewis* - Echo CD. (£11 profit).
• £8.95 Take That* - Greatest Hits. (£11 profit).
• £8.95 Ronan Keating* - Winter Song. (£11 profit).
• £9.98 District 9* DVD. (£10 profit).
• £9.98 Inglourious Basterds* DVD. (£10 profit)
• £16.98 Harry Potter* & The Half Blood Prince Blu-ray. (£3 profit).
• £17.59 Ice Age 3* Blu-Ray. (£2.50 profit)

The Tesco press office has confirmed that people can use the deal multiple times, but only once for each specific product. So if you buy two Susan Boyle CDs, you will only get 500 points. But if, for example, you buy a Susan Boyle CD, a Harry Potter Blu-ray and an Ice Age 3 Blu-ray, you will get 1,500 points. Do be aware that the 500 extra Clubcard points will not show in the online basket at the checkout, but Tesco says the will definitely be awarded and will appear in your February Clubcard statement. Offer ends Sun 15 November.

I took this to read that you are only allowed 500 points from one purchase per category, but I may be reading it wrong.

does this now mean you can order more than 1 of the same title>

Yes, the way I read it, you can purchase up to 6 of EACH TITLE and get 6 X 500 points.
I can see a lot of Susan Boyle cds 1/2 price on ebay soon:D

i spoke to a supervisor today and they told me that its a max of 6 per cd but you stil get only 500 points. watch out! tescos are !!!!!!! about!

Sounds like the supervisor may be a day or two behind the current terms and conditions!

I reckon the T&C are clear now except for that dangerous last sentence:

The Extra points promotion is for personal use only and Tesco Entertainment reserve the right to withdraw or amend this promotion where we reasonably suspect abuse of this promotion.

There's a danger they might amend the promotion after the returns deadline but before the points go onto the accounts.

just a word of caution,i purchased a mobile phone in september with 500 points.i was assured the points would go on prior to the conversion in november.tesco didn't add the points :mad:.i have been passed around from tesco clubcard to tesco mobile to customer services back to the store and no one knows why i haven't received my points.
i actually phoned tesco customer services on thursday,i was told "yes we have your 500 points waiting to convert them in february.
i phoned customer services again on friday to confirm what i was previously told and guess what.?"i am sorry sir you do not have 500 points waiting for conversion..

I ordered something for the 500 points when the offer started, only showed the normal points so emailed them

I'm sorry for any confusion caused by our recent 500 Clubcard points promotion on selected pre order items.

I can confirm that the 500 extra Clubcard points will be added to your Clubcard account for each item ordered. To be fair to all our customers, we may limit the order quantity of eligible items.

These Clubcard points will not show on your order confirmation or on your delivery invoice, however I can assure you that they will be added in time for your February statement.

I hope this information helps.

the point "we may limit the order quantity of eligible items" is something to note if ordering loads of items, the terms and conditions werent on the site when I ordered.

I realise that "To be fair to all our customers" means no such thing but I don't see how this is fair to anyone. They are threatening to introduce new terms after the sale.

With the double points and 500 bonus points you can get 518 for a £9 purchase, and if you go through Quidco you can get 8% cashback as well (unless they don't give the additional points for those who enter through cashback sites)
