  • Thanks effingpot, just had a feeling that as they give out the temporary cards willy nilly that those account numbers won't be registered account numbers until they are registered by the customer.

I don't understand why they've introduced a condition saying my 10 "500 pt" titles must be 10 different titles rather than ten of the same. And it seems unfair, introducing new terms and conditions after the sale.

Also, at the time of sale it appeared items could be cancelled up until despatch. Now it won't let me cancel the surplus items (I tried), even though they are not dispatched.

Bonus points aside, I'm not a fan of Tesco Entertainment so far.

Not only is it unfair to introduce such terms and conditions after the sale, it is also unlawful. They cannot apply terms and conditions that a person cannot reasonably find out about - and these restrictions to the points were not present within the Ts & Cs published on the website at the time of the order. If they changed the Ts & Cs in the interim, the onus is on them to tell you about them and then give you the chance to back out before despatch.

Otherwise there is no valid contract of sale, the goods remain their property, they should refund you in full and you should make the goods available for their collection or otherwise agree as to how the goods will be returned (at their expense).

To me these Ts & Cs seem to be a panic measure after the publicity on this site.

I contacted Tesco today regarding this and was verbally told that the new Ts & Cs only apply to orders made after they were published on their website, which was the 11th November. For belt and braces I'm trying to get it confirmed in writing.
  • Hi All, jumping on this lovely thread...

I'm planning to renew my RAC membership next year using CC points.

Can someone please confirm I have this right...

If I wanted to buy the following: http://www.tesco.com/clubcard/deals/product.aspx?R=201&bci=4294967150|Motoring*4294966470|RAC%20Roadside%20/%20Recovery

To achieve the £35 points value, if I bought 7 CD/DVD's of varying titles before tomorrow, by my reckoning this would give me the 3,500 points I need at a cost of £62 (cheapest opyions) in CD/DVD's. Plus a bunch of new goodies, that I could use as xmas prezzies...

Is this correct, or is it to good to be true???

    Cheers all.

That seems about right to me.

Just make sure you buy the pre-orders that have the 500 extra points on.
  • *500 extra Clubcard points (Extra Points) will not be shown in the online basket at the checkout. They will be will be awarded in the February Clubcard Statement Extra Points will be awarded for each title purchased from the promotion range. In the interests of ensuring availability for all of our customers, this promotion is limited to a maximum of 6 purchases of the same title per customer. Multiple purchases of the same title above this limit will not be eligible for Extra Points. The Extra points promotion is for personal use only and Tesco Entertainment reserve the right to withdraw or amend this promotion where we reasonably suspect abuse of this promotion.

This now means i can buy 6 leona lewis and get 3000 points right?

Just ordered the latest Terminator and Harry Potter DVD's for the 500 points offer. I know it says the points will appear in the Feb10 statement but will my clubcard points balance be updated in the next few days (or weeks once the DVD's have been despatched). Not that I don't trust tesco but well I don't trust tesco till wait until February to see if they have remembered to credit the account......!!!

If it goes anything like the last time they ran a points offer, it will take them 4-6 weeks to actually credit the points to your account, hence why they're saying the'll be on February's statement.

    Thanks JAG...

One last thing, can the 6 items all be on the same order. Or is it 1 item per transaction. I thought I read that somewhere, but cant find it now.

    Thanks.

    Thanks.

They keep changing the Terms & Conditions, but you could order all 6 in one transaction and still get 6 lots of 500 points.

Personally I would make 6 transactions.

So if in February when the points should have been added, and if they have not. At least with 6 transactions they cannot use the excuse that the offer was "500 points per transaction" if you ordered all six in one transaction.
