Hi folks. I'm trying to defend my friend and Bank-Smart is playing hard ball. It would be really helpful if someone who signed up with Bank-Smart around March 2009 could tell me if the relevant terms and conditions were version v10.6P and whether or not they were printed on the reverse of the letter of engagement. This information could really help my friend and, if the case proceeds to court and we succeed, we'll be able to post the details on the forum to help others suffering at the hands of this company.
Cheers0 -
Does anyone know when in 2009 Bank-Smart changed its terms and conditions please?0

A massive thank you for everybody who has contributed to this thread. I received a letter from these people today claiming I'm due £394.50 back from BlackHorse and would I sign their letter and send it back.
Warning bells sent me running to check them out, and I'm glad I did. Their letter along with their form and self-addressed envelope about to be shredded!

I've not had any personal dealing with his company but a colleague of mine who works for HMRC (Customs & Excise) has said stay well clear, they had issues with VAT returns, are based in Cornwall, know there previous address in London was one of these virtual offices, not sure of the one that is advertised now.
It's owned by a guy called Simon Smart.
According to "Company search made simple"

There was a GAZ1 - FIRST GAZETTE & DISS40 - DISS40 (DISS40(SOAD)) on the company!!!!!
Checking on the MOJ site
claimsregulation.gov.uk/details.aspx/4036/Symmetric_Systems_Ltd/?search=simple&business=Banksmart&authID=§or=-1&county=-1&status=-1[/url]
This shows what the company is registered as, however according to Companies House this is what they are registry as.....

I didnt shred the prepaid envelope that my partner recieved...
I did put in a lovely note, thanking them for their letter, and then shredded the letter.
The way I see it.... I got utter rubbish through the post from them, and they paid. So, I sent them utter rubbish back, and they still paid. Win Win
I know it wont eat into their profit margins by much, but it made me feel better0 -
I had a letter 10 weeks ago advising me that i was owed £3900 in PPI. It turns out this letter is from banksmart so i decided to look them up. It seems they charge and from what i see on this forum are best avoided. They never said anything about charges in their first letter, nor indeed in this 2nd letter. I thought that since it was a Welcome loan I'm due a refund on that it was initially the FSCS who had contacted me since i know they have been contacting other Welcome customers. I know you say i should have paid more attention but i didnt, my bad. How can i stop Banksmart from pursueing this as Welcome (the FSCS anyway) are doing this for me?0

I emailed Bank Smart yesterday and aid that since THEY came to Me and that there was no mention of charges on any of their paperwork i want to cancel my claim through them. They emailed back and said they would invoice me for services rendered!!!!
Emailing back to tell them there have been no services and if they would like to send me a printed copy of the charges they will be looking for my lawyer will be grateful. They will not be seeing a penny from me and I will be contacted the FSA.0 -
