  • Its going to be a sad stat that nearly everyone reading this has searched this company after engaging them to recover some fund or another.

I engaged BANK SMART (NOT) to recover bank charges against two current accounts. I had no correspondence for over two years and suddenly received invoice after invoice for an unsuccesfull claim.

I dont beleive these people have actually done anything that they claim. In one statement they say that my case has been taken to court and im to await a response. Im trying to get them to release details of where and when this was. But their 24hr reply to and emails is a non exsistant joke. Apart from their weekly invoices.

I could rant all day about these people.

Simply read the reclaim advice within this website and avoid the charges and scam mechants that proclaim to be wanting to help. They are after your money both in reclaim and charges.

BANK SMART - AVOID AVOID AVOID AVOID

I notice from some comments you have to add some sort of personal statement.....

THIS IS MY PERSONNEL VIEW AND AS SUCH HOLDS NO LEGAL/BANK/DEBT ADVICE. BLAH BLAH BLAH ITS SIMPLE AN EXTENSION OF MY THOUGHTS AND FEELINGS.

I'm in the same boat - 2007 my claim was entered (for dates 2003-2006). Supposidly I'm owed over £1500 from Abbey (Santander) for overcharges. I've had several "invoices" from bank-smart over the last years, and had another one today. I'm getting a bit peeved off with it TBH

Is there any way I can maybe claim this through the banks directly, instead of dealing with these imbiciles? I'm also reluctant to pay them a penny as they've done a shocking job (in fact, they've done pretty much nothing!!!)

    TIA

I have had the misfortune of dealing with this company, I had not heard from them for months regarding my claim against Abbey/Santander and last week emailed them to demand an update, this morning I have received 2 invoices, one for £118.80 and another for £93.60

I have never received a penny in compensation from these idiots, what should I do??

    Please help

    Thanks

    Hi,

I managed to get a reply from them - although not the kinda one I wanted.
We understand that you are not trying to reclaim PPI we are saying that if you did this may help your personal account claims.

As you have failed to pay the £10 fee we have cancelled both your claims for a refund of approx. £2,500.

For some reason, they thought that asking me to try and reclaim a PPI via them would HELP them reclaim my money from bank charges. Not a chance... I'm not giving them another penny. I would just reply to them, and explain that they have NOT even got you a penny back - and according to their own contract, you don't owe them a penny until its been settled and you have the money in your bank. I wish someone would shut this bloody "company" down (if you can call them that - I prefer "scam artists" personally!)

I'm also not sure where the £2.5k came from - I looked at the amounts a few weeks back, and it was about £1.5 - so they now seem to be even picking number out of thin air as well! I just hope people do a search on them before taking out their "services", as-not to get stuck in the same hole as it seems a lot of us have

    Hope that helps

PS. They also claim "we have found that no penalty charges have been applied to your account in the past 6 years that have not already been refunded"

which is total BS as I have never claimed on this account before........

I would tell that you are gonna go to the FSA to report them, due to mal-practice. They will be able to enquire into the banks to verify you never received anything from your bank - and thus Bank-Smart are talking out of the !!!!!! (excuse the saying!)

I was trying to post a link to their site, but it won't let me :(

Sadly it looks like I am gonna have to pay up as they sent me a scanned copy of the signed letter of engagement that does state "if you submit a claim that has no value, we will charge you for work completed"
