Last year I got travel insurance with https://www.direct-travel.co.uk.
My husband had a slight heart attack about 2 years ago and I was having great difficulty getting travel insurance. Some companies wouldnt take him on whilst others quoted extortionate rates!
The lady just asked questions e.g. is he able to walk 200 yards without getting breathless and if I remember correctly asked about his medication.(not sure).
Anyway at the end of the day his insurance was the SAME as mine and I have no existing medical conditions. I think his premium was under £20!
They are worth a call 01903 812345.....( you need to discuss the pre existing medical conditions with someone)
By the way they were very quick to send out the insurance documents.
(Axa Insurance were the underwriters of the insurance)
I hope this is helpful.
I wish you luck!
Kind regards

This is my first post so apologies in advance if it is garbled. My wife has myeloma ( a form of bone narrow cancer) and is scheduled for a stem cell transplant in the next few weeks. All being well we want to go to Australia next July. However I want to book early and take advantage of current prices. If my wife is not well enough to travel next July I need to have cancellation insurance that will cover all the family (2 adults/2 kids) as well as my wife's current condition. Anyone else had the same predicament? If so what did you do? All suggestions gratefully received.0

I've used them 3 times previously the last time being 2 weeks ago.
No problems of documents arriving.
Additionally, why not run a copy of the docs off when buying as they always ask you to read them before agreeing to the T7C's at purchase.
Fortunately never needed to claim, so cannot comment on how claims dealt with.0 -
We recently went on holiday to Germany and took my daughter's friend with us. I eventually found a company which would accept the friend as part of the family group at http://www.travel-insurance.net/.
It cost £32 for 15 days, which was around £12 cheaper than the nearest quote where we had to insure the friend separately.
I also have a pre-existing condition and was offered the chance to exclude this, which was fine by me.
We didn't make a claim so I can't comment on their service.
Might be useful to someone in a similar situation.0 -
