Barin7 try the BMC as their Travel Policy covers some unusual activities at low cost http://www.thebmc.co.uk/0

Thanks dacouch.
Unfortunatley I'm not a member of BMC so I automatically have to add 30 odd quid onto their quote for insurance.
I've found a quote that covers marathon running and hiking to 3000m which will be sufficient. It is with Insureandgo. Has anyone had any experiences of this company?
Thanks0 -
This probably sounds like a stupid question to most of you but I am inexperienced in these matters! Apologies if I put this in the wrong place
We are going to Las Vegas in September and I have been looking at Travel Insurance options. I know I have to look at the wording to see if we are covered for an incident such as the volcanic ash one, but am not sure whether to buy my insurance now or nearer the time. If I buy now, will I be covered for anything that happens between now and when we return or does the insurance only cover me from when we travel?
Thanks in advanceDoing my best :doh:0 -
Travel insurance should be taken out as soon as the holiday is booked and then covers you for anything that happens between taking it out and the end of the holiday.
If you have an accident or illness before the insurance is taken out which causes you to cancle then you won't be covered.0 -
Thank you luci, I shall get on to it right away!Doing my best :doh:0

Also note that anything connected with the volcanic ash is unlikely to be covered on a policy taken out now as it is now a known event. Insurance only covers for the unknown.0

Point noted, thanks again!:)Doing my best :doh:0

Hi Guys
I am considering buying annual multi trip insurance for Top Notch. I have seen this has been receommended by Martin's as one of the best buy with top value policies.
I have seen the cover and it is enough for me. But I have been reading many times that some nsurance will do their best to dismiss the claim.
How about Top Notch cover are they good in handling the claim, especailly in case we need them ??
Thank you

I understand this depends on policy wording. But what I am talking about here is a general travel insurance, such as those which come with your bank a/c. or annual multi trip for £40ish. In case I book flight with Budget Airlines such as Ryan Air, Easy Jet and I missed the flight due to
1. My own fault such as: fail to wake up earlier (I thnik you know what I am talking about, to get a bargain some times you need to wake up very early in the morning as early as 04.00 o'clock)
2. It is not my fault, such as the public transport that I am using get delayed.
3. There is unforeseen workload and due to this you can not travel because you need to finish that job in time.
Thank you in advance for your valuable info.
