I'm not sure if they can compel you to have insurance at all, let alone force you to have theirs.
But, take a look at this:

I'm looking for travel insurance recommendations please, I used to use a well known one that comes up on here every now and then but my mother-in-law had lots of problems when she had to claim for theft.
I'm after an annual policy for a family of 3, me my wife and my 15 year old daughter for EU cover no sports cover needed.
Any help would be great thanks0 -
Forgot to say at the moment Virgin Money seems a good one. £10 million medical £150 excess, cancellation cover £3000 excess £100, Baggage cover £1500 excess £100 cost £36.540

I've heard horror stories of insurance companies refusing to pay out because somebody had had a drink. Can anybody suggest insurers for a single trip who are a bit more realistic?
I suspect threre probably has been a thread on this previously but I can't find it0 -
I have used the same company for years as I travel around quite a bit World First worldwide travel insurance always been really good.

Does anyone have experiences with the offer of covomo?
Im travelling to germany in August this year, for about two months and im still seeking a cheap but good travel insurance.
Do you think covomo would fit my needs? Or do you no another good insurance for travelling to germany, instead?
Thanks

I'm looking for some advise please.
My husband & I have travel insurance with our Barclays bank account, but my husband is currently being investigated as he has an irregular heartbeat, Barclays have excluded this condition.
We are looking at taking out another policy to cover the condition as I really don't want him to be taken ill and not have this covered, but my question is - I am fully covered with Barclays but do we need to take out the other policy as a couple to ensure that if he is poorly when we are away, that I am covered to stay there etc? I'm assuming that with his exclusion on Barclays, this would affect what I would be able to do as a result?
I hope that makes sense, any help & advice appreciated please.
Thanks in advance.0 -
It woul be easier to get cover as a couple, that way you will also be covered if he is taken ill (extended stay and alternative flights back etc). If you stick with your Barclays one they may not cover you if your husband is taken ill whilst away.
Have a look at https://www.allcleartravel.co.uk they have a special policy that covers family (or friends) who are accompanying people who are taken ill on holiday. I used the via Quidco.com 2 years ago and they found me a great policy with Explorer Travel Insurance, and I use them again this year when when to Tenerife.
If you are going to Europe, make sure your EHIC is up to date and keep it with you at all times on holiday.0 -
Dear All
My Q relates to Travel Insurance. We book flights etc to attend a wedding and the wedding has, unfortunately, now been called off. Is it possible to claim the costs on travel insurance?0
