Remove it! It's there to protect the case until it's sold. Like the sticky transparent protector on the ledge where the on/off button is and the similar covering to the touchpad.

My daughter bought one yesterday. I spent a few hours loading updates and applications and generally 'setting it up'; and she watched a DVD on it last night. It hasn't so much as blinked (touch wood).

How? I mean the black plastic on the other side on the screen which has GERICOM on it. I looks pretty stuck on to me....

No it is supposed to come off.. But the ACTUAL perspex scratches really easily.. I'd leave it on... Infact I did on my second laptop. Sadly after time it peeled
  • IM133 Out of interest when did your laptop start shutting itself down and did you get time to read the blue screen before it shut down. Rock Direct are a good company to deal with, their 3yr guarantee is a good one and they have a no quibble return policy. They deal with alot of large companies in the UK.
Tabasco I have considered getting another one but I wanted to upgrade it to one gig of ram but there are security seals all over the underneath of the laptop that say the warranty will be invalid if removed. Who has ever heard of a computer that you cant upgrade. Our local Aldi only had 4 laptops in and considering the area that they cover that isnt very many. IM133 buy the Rock laptop and you wont be dissapointed.

Got one. As others have reported, battery life is not six hours :( You also should be aware that the XP software needs lots of updating to bring it up to date. Give yourself a few hours (on a broadband link) just for this. If you still want one, there was still at least one available yesterday p.m. in Cardiff, though all the TVs appeared to have gone. Managers have been prepared to take orders for other computers in the past, and get stock in, you may still be lucky.
