  • not got an in depth review but for those who don't know it has a centrino 1.7ghz processor.

This processor has a 2MB cache memory and will perform approx 1.5x better than the ghz rating would suggest.

So although it is described as a 1.7ghz it will perform roughly the same as a 2.6ghz pentium processor. The lower clock speed also allows it to have better battery life.

It also has a Radeon 9700 graphics card so will have no problems running the latest games.

is it worth getting?? do u think its a bargain at this price? For around £1070 i can get a top spec fujitsu siemens 64 bit AMD 3700+ laptop from laptopsdirect.co.uk

What is the quality of it like?? is it noisy as i would like a quiet machine...

I saw this.....not interested myself but looks very, very good....very comprehensive spec......pretty well the best you can get today without the price heading towards 2K......I have a centrino with a lower spec and it takes everything I can throw at it.

The forums generaly have good reports on the Aldi/Medion offers...Id buy a PC off them.....Im sure there are highly clued up semi pro IT shoppers that can find better but for mere mortals like me this really is worth a look....and you could spend a long time trying to find better ::)

    Hope that helps.

Yes, I have it, as I said on another thread (in this Board I think) a couple of days ago. I bought it for £1000 back in August and I considered it v good value then. I have made it dual boot with Linux. What do you want to know about it? The fan's a bit noisy but it's still going...
