How did your poly tunnel do this year? Our council do very little in the fight against the potholes. We slalom around them.

Hi Lu, polytunnel went ok this year, still had some cherry tomatoes up to few weeks ago! Had lots of onions and have been using them up too, it wasnt really warm enough this year for the chilli's but I did get lots of strawberries during April and May, I have them in a big barrell inside the poly and it contains them and they have been a great success.

Weather is really frosty today, had to break ice on the duck pond, they still dont look to keen on going in (dont blame them). Think I may have enough to get some oil in next week, the house is freezing. Im going to light the stove early today and just hope the weather warms up a small bit.

Hope everyone is ok during these awful floods, just been looking at Sky news looks dreadful.

At least you managed to get something out of it a lot better than most peoples gardens. I'd love a tunnel.

I feel lucky that we managed to fill our oil tank in the summer (not being smug) and have managed to put some money away each month for the next fill. Hope you get a good price.

Well Ive just ordered half a tank 500l trs will cost me €460, so we will be careful with it and I hope to have enough saved by Feb to top up again. Its still freezing, just lit the stove and the condensation in the old part of the house is very bad, so at least the when they deliver oil on Friday that should put a stop to it. OH has taken some rubbish to the tip and is picking up a bon voyage card for some other friends who are off to Oz on Sunday, so DS2 has yet another friend heading away, he's not best pleased!:( Hope everyone is keeping warm, Ned has been fed, mucked out and brushed although he wasnt too keen on the brushing today, bolshy donkey!:)

Quick update. Oil delivered, pump decided not to work, so we needed to get boiler serviced €70 then needed new circulating pump €50 , anyway we now have a warm house and OH has bruised on both legs from trying to change the pump and cramming himself into tight boiler house (which I may add he built) lol.
Kids had a rough week last week, a classmate of DS1's had a massive heart attack on the footie field and tragically died only 16 so we had a bad week and then I went with them to the funeral last Thursday, so awful, cant even find words.
Have done some wrapping today and have a horrible cold, but am soldiering on as we have to. Hope everyone is keeping warm.

Last day of school today and boy am I ready for a not so early morning tomorrow. So dark and a bit foggy now. Ive been trying to get DD to get in and get this licence as they are going up on the 1st Jan from €25 to €55 and we only have 3 days between now and the new year that the office will be open. I did toy with the idea of posting it in but with the post so busy we'll probably miss the deadline and it will end up costing more. Kids just dont see the moneysaving bit yet!!! Have got most of the veggies done now and got my haircut yesterday, so just the meat to pick up tomorrow. DH is working again today so that should sort out the meat bill, have just one voucher to get for DD as dont know what else she needs at 19. Looking forward to xmas now even though the house still needs a good clean, sure I'll get there.

Hi Lu yeah everything is ok, I did start a new diary but cant remember what I called it now duhhh. Anyway apart from the normal not enough money car trouble etc etc everything is as usual. DH is very down again and in turn rubs off on everyone else, not much work etc etc. Enough moaning on and I am as ever being positive and optimistic. Thats just me. :rotfl:
