An update on the new hens, one of them has a definite death-wish, it had a go at me twice and the cat too. Dog is dodging it at the mo, they dont seem to want to leave the hen house just yet but Im sure they'll settle down soon.
Have cleaned kids bathroom and boy do I need a large drink. I think that will be the last time its now spotless and DD and her wonderful hair will be getting my wrath when she gets home, from now on its HER job!

Yay to hens with a death wish and DDs with their own bottle of stardrops :)

Fantastic news on the repayments - absolutely horrible rate of interest you've been paying on barclaycard! Barstewards .... if one of the loans is due to end anyway in September, as you say, you really are on your way now! Go for it :)

Wow! Wow! what can I say. Will you be able to overpay the loan without any fees? Not jealous of Ned the neddy, nope not in the slightest. I did the DDs room at the weekend and just made it out alive, did have to kick them back in again as it was starting to get into a tip.

Morning folks another sunny day here which is lovely. Lucielle well done on even entering DD's room , Im too afraid to go in there
I can overpay the loan but they would want the whole thing in one go so Im going to save any extra in another account and if I get close to the final figure I'll get rid of quicker it may only be one month but one month earlier is still good. I had asked previously about early redemption figures and it would still save me a few euro's. Hopefully we will just have the one loan and mortgage to concentrate on by Sept which is great.

DH spoke with the road man yesterday, who says no one has previously offered to do the ground work on one of these grant schemes and he will be at the council office on Friday so he will get back to us then, fingers and everything crossed folks. We still had to send the form back to say we wanted to continue and will pay by end of April though  that was his advice as the form had to be back in otherwise we go to the back of the queue, I suppose doing the work ourselves counts as payment of sorts ;)
Off to peg out washing and walk the mut, back later.

Ooh, Turfy, unlike Lucielle ;) I am sooo jealous of Ned. If/when I ever get myself sorted out then donkeys are definitely on the cards. Are you getting just the one? They are very sociable animals and need company ... so why not go for two? Or possibly a whole herd?

Roll on September ... it'll be here in no time.

I'd love to be a good example - instead, I am a horrible warning.

:( Bad news on the road Im afraid, they cannot let us do the prep work so thats that for the time being and were going to the back of the queue again. Its our anniversary today so Im not going to let it spoil the day. The only consolation (if there is any) is that by the time we do get back to the top of the queue we should be a bit more financially able so to speak.

Have repotted some tomato seeds and watered all stuff in the tunnel. Have been getting somewhere ready for Ned which involved lots of pulling branches from underneath the grass!!!! A lot of trees were felled a couple of years ago so its all grown over and I need this particular track for donkey access, my aching back! DS is going to get the brushcutter going to rid some more stuff we dont need. He is much stronger and of course agile than I am.;)

A donkey! That didn't sink in when I last posted, how lovely. Is he a friend, will he pull a little cart or anything?

Bad news on the road tho - can you any surreptitious repairs or prepping yourself, now that you're at the bottom of the list again? Even filling in the worst of the potholes helps - where I used to live, there was a dirt track for pedestrians to the suburban station, tho cars sometimes used it, and individuals used to come along with leftover shingle and whatnot and tip it into the potholes ....
