Have had the most horrendous 24 hrs stess wise. It began when we went to town to top up the pre pay cc for the ferry trip. All ok but had to buy 2 vouchers and transfer funds once we got home. that was ok and booked the ferry. OH wanted to get some more cement later on so we went out in the car and i was driving, from nowhere I could not change gear and could only drive in 3rd. OH began to get stressed and lots of shouting and swearing etc etc. Anyway we thought the clutch had gone. He rang the mechanic and arranged for a tow over there this morning. But he was so stressed about the ferry etc and we couldnt cancel as we'd lose our money etc. We had a huge row over lack of money and how much this was all going to cost. Didnt get much sleep and off he went this morning to the garage. We got a call about an hour ago to say it was just a selector that had gone out of place so it would cost us €50 for his time!! Thank god and lots of apologies later Im well and truly exhausted.:mad: So no need to cancel the trip and we pick up the car tomorrow.:T Men !!

Forgot to mention I applied for a €500 overdraft online this morning just in case we couldnt pay for the repairs, hopefully we'll not need it now. Havent mentioned that though.

Ug, thats horrible, turfy! I'm sorry you went through that - but glad that it was "only" E50..... I hope the ferry ride is a lot smoother, at least you've got really good weather for it. Have alovely time away - I know its all parents and whatnot, but relax how and when you can.

Were back home and boy am I glad to be home. Were exhausted, not much sleep as seagulls right above our heads so have slept our brains out. All went ok and Im off to sort out my paperwork will catch up later hugs to everyone.:beer:

Been catching up with the mountain of washing which by the way appears in the basket every morning!! Loads of cleaning needs doing so Im slowly getting into that, cant believe how much weve slept since getting back, I thought a holiday was meant to leave you feeling refreshed not kn******d!! Nice to be home and getting back to somewhere near normal. We still have only one car OH has gone off to see some mates this afternoon. Childminding should be back on course next week and moneywise we seem to be ok this month so hope this continues. Off to route in the freezer for something for tea, spag bol probably.:T

Hi folks have only been lurking last few days. Childminding going ok, weather could be a bit better. Have been having issues with OH last couple of weeks re money, work, etc so has been a horrid time really. Hopefully all will come good, doesnt help having one vehicle and me taxi- ing everyone here and there and OH trying to finish a small job which god only knows when he'll get paid from!!! Its all a bit yuk really but chin up and onwards we go. Sorry to sound a bit of a grump, hope everyones ok.

Sorry to hear this, turfy - we do all have times like that, of course, but its still horrible to go through. For me, even a couple of minutes with my eyes closed leaning against a wall or something (and literally resisting the urge to *bang* my head against it) is good - it sort of acknowledges how carp everything is, and I can carry on for a little bit longer.

Morning everyone, things are a changing as they say here. The couple I childmind for are having a new baby and he has taken a job which means he is away most of the week and home weekend, the mum has also started her own business and wants to work extra during the week so yesterday they told me that they are getting a German au pair from September as someone will be home to do the housework and she will have company in the evenings. Fine so I will be looking for another cash job, seriously thinking the cleaning will be the best option, and TBH as Ive said before the eldest child is a nightmare at the best of times so there is always a silver cloud.

Anyway finance wise the past year has certainly kept the wolf from the door and has enabled me to repay our builder suppliers (well from Sept anyway) which although is not part of my sig has had to paid at a rate of €200 a month which will now go towards dear old barclaycard which Im hoping will be in the hundreds not thousands by october, so onwards and upwards positive vibes and all that. Vehicle wise no change there I am still an official taxi!
