MM - no words of advice I am afraid but have a dodgy hug :grouphug: in fact have two :grouphug:

    What exactly is the problem??

    She doesnt need sleep :o
I know it doesnt sound like a major problem, but she has the ability to make me feel like a shoite mum
I put her to bed at 9pm. Now admitidly we normally let her watch TV before bedtime which isnt the best idea, but we have tried everything, and this at least keeps her quiet for a while. She has little chats with her teddies, bounces on the bed, sings make up songs, and generally fights sleep
She eventually goes to sleep around 11 or 12 o'clock.
I think I wasnt at breaking point untill now as she is now keeping Dylan awake too and not just me and I have had enough.
I know no one can help, as we have literally tried every possible solution that we can think of, but this is a new book specifically for older kids, so I will give it a go.
I wll try anything right now :o

we used to have a 7pm bed time and she didnt sleep till 12, so we thought we would make it 8, that still didnt work, so we are now at 9. Only thing is to go to 10 and just accept that she doesnt need much sleep. She gets up at 8am and has loads of energy !!!

Mum was grating on me a bit by the end of the day, I have to admit. She seems to think I need her there to settle Rhys when he's crying. I was changing him earlier and he was crying - always does when it involves having to take his clothes off - and there she was, shaking a rattle at him, saying "there, there, it's okay, granny's here" Again, she was just about to leave when the nurse arrived and then she decided to stay, shaking that bloody rattle at him when he's roaring at the injection. How exactly do you say in a polite fashion "he's my baby, I know why he's crying and I can deal with it, so *** off?!" :o
I f you don't like it say something NOW or you'll be biting your tongue for years to come! - Trust me I know

Not quite the first time but I think we're definitely less prone to it than you ladies :o Also I really did blush, probably unwise antics for my finance office, I scurried out sharpish :o

Wow! She slept 2 hours and then another big nap a few hours later, I am soooo jealous ;p OH reports Elijah had one 1 hr nap today, between 7am rise and 7.30 bedtime. The little monkey.

Oh no you probably all drink white wine don't you :( the horrors. Red wine is a nicer drink, doesn't need chilling, and has diverse (debatable) health benefits over white :p get used to it!
    LOL]
Feelie and I don't drink :D I'm allergic to most alcoholic drinks wine being one of the worst offenders (plus wine tastes vile!) so you'll never find me drinking it!
on he VERY odd occasion I drink I go for pear cider or vodka and bitter lemon (such a granny mixer :p)

I must be up too late - I was going to point out it isn't summer then I realised it is.
    :rotfl:

Elle - both tesco and asda do plain long sleeved vests, you may need to delve to the back of the rail as not many out in summer, 3pk plain white ones are £2.25 in tesco

    SB - £19!!!!!!!1 I was chuffed with the £30ish I paid in tesco :(

I once saw a supernanny episode where the girl was like this....I think they started by just letting her stay up until midnight and sorting out her going to bed without fussing then (she was awake anyway). Then they brought it back slowly once she was used to going to bed and going straight to sleep.

It's extreme but if you really are at a loss???

Do you really believe she doesn't need much sleep? Does she ever have a good night? If she does, is she better behaved the day after??

Have you tried really tiring her out during the day? I mean really getting her out in the fresh air all day and getting her heart pumping? Always works for me :D

I agree SM, otherwise it could affect Dylan. I see that she doesn't need the sleep but you need grown-up time. No tv and no getting out of bed, had a problem with Erin for a while and spent about 6 weeks consistently checking her every 10-15 mins until she realised we wouldn't back down but was very hard work. Only thing she is allowed to do before going to sleep is read. X Not gonna be easy for you! :A
Too many children, too little time!!!

I saw that one too, am thinking of trying it, but not sure if I could amuse her for an extra 3 hours a night !!

She is really well behaved through the day. Well as well behaved as a normal 6 year old can be :rotfl:And , no we have never had a really good night. I think the earliest she has gone to sleep in the last 3 years is 10pm

All the time:o We take her to the park, on her bike, walk around the forest across the road from us, play badminton, loads of stuff, but she still isnt tired

She is only learning to read by herself now, so when she takes a book to bed, we get shouted on to tell her what a word is

LOL - that's my ideas out then.

You wouldn't have to entertain her for the 3 hours - say she can stay up but all she can do is read, or colour or whatever.

I am guessing a bath, a hot milky drink and a story are all too simple!! Or rewards (charts etc) for staying in her room??

Will just send more (((hugs))) and I hope that when Benjamin is driving me scratty doing the same that someone is there to listen to me.
