Mum was grating on me a bit by the end of the day, I have to admit. She seems to think I need her there to settle Rhys when he's crying. I was changing him earlier and he was crying - always does when it involves having to take his clothes off - and there she was, shaking a rattle at him, saying "there, there, it's okay, granny's here" Again, she was just about to leave when the nurse arrived and then she decided to stay, shaking that bloody rattle at him when he's roaring at the injection. How exactly do you say in a polite fashion "he's my baby, I know why he's crying and I can deal with it, so *** off?!" :o

That sounds like normal Mam behavior :D I really have to bite my tongue at times with mine. I've asked her not to give Charlotte biscuits, chocolate yoghurt and other junk food, but she ignores me and still gives her it  She gets to my Mam's house about 9.15am on a morning and must get a biscuit straight away as on a weekend she says it's biscuit time around 9am and I say no, so we have a tantrum to deal with :o
Here I go again on my own....

Ladybird, was it you who was looking for long sleeved vests a while ago? Did you find any? I need some to go under all the dungarees I've just bought on eBay for Rhys. Plain white or coloured, no bothered. Any ideas anyone? :)

ETA: Oh, have found some from Mothercare and M&S. Am usually a Tesco and Asda type for the basics - anyone seen them there?

I found them in tesco 3 for £2.50 I think. Took a lot of looking though - kept finding them in every size except what I wanted.

Oh, I caved in and bought Izzy this earlier in the week. I kept eyeing it up, and I had a voucher, so I went for it. Got it in the next size up as she already has a coat for the size she is in now, and (theoretically) we shouldn't need coats too much in the next couple of months.

I told El earlier to watch her hands as she was about to touch the oven (not on) and she looked at both her hands, 19 months and already a comedian!!!!

SM I hate when they do that especially after you've tried everything to settle them!!!

  • Well Caitlyn had her 8w check yesterday... She's now 12lb 7 1/2oz and a whopping 60cm long:eek: She's grown 8cm in 5 weeks! She also had her injections... Who was it said that breastfeeding while she had the injection would lesson the pain? Well that was a big fat lie  I latched her on and held her leg, she fed quite happily until the nurse stabbed her and then she went bright red in the face and let out the most enormous wail... She took it quite well though and calmed down pretty well...

And on to me... There's something wrong with me... Well.. More than normal anyway... I keep going all wooly headed like I'm drunk, last night when I was really tired the room was spinning it was that bad but it's been a bit on and off today and not quite as bad... And I have little itchy sposts on my chest / arms / legs I'm in two minds whether its bad enough to bother a Dr about or whether I should just ignore it and hope it goes away...:o

It may have been me who said about feeding whilst having injections. I have fed Benjamin each time so I am not sure how he would have reacted otherwise but the most we get is a squeal and a bit of a red-faced wail before he decides boobie is much nicer than crying.

When he had 3 needles on Monday he didn't even murmer as the third one went in. I think I found his lack of reaction more distressing than the squealing (which at least is to be expected) :o

I would ring NHS direct too - better to be safe than sorry.

mfd , what a lovely idea writing a letter, my jasmines 18weeks next week so i mite pinch your idea!! i didnt do it for jake tho:o have kept all his little tags n stuff, even got a lock of his hair somewhere from his first haircut,

Why not write one for Jake first? I'm sorry I have forgotten how old he is but the sentiment still applies however old they are.

I really just wanted to capture all the little things that he does now or has done so far that I adore about him :o
