    What teats are on them?
I had a problem with the size one (slowest teats) as ds3 couldn't seem to get enough milk quickly enough and so took in loads of air sucking so hard! I had similar problems with the other two as well (different bottles) I can highly recommend changing the teats to the variable ones they are like little x on the teat......although, thinking while typing, not sure if they are from 3mths??

    Hmm, will check

    http://www.tommeetippee.co.uk/product/closer_to_nature_easi-vent_variflo_teats_x_2/

Nope they are from birth......I used variable flow teats with all my boys they are fab, I takes a few feeds for the baby to realise they can take as little or as much milk as they want (they sometimes chke the first couple of times!) But once they are used to them I never looked back:D:D:D

    hey redmel,
it is the 1st teat that i am using at the minute. i think im gonna pop to tesco to see if they have them in stock and give them a try.
I never thought it may be because he is sucking too hard...!!
If that doesnt help, then ill try changing bottles. I have heard good things about mam too sami, so maybe try a couple of them. What do i do with 8 TT CTN bottles thou!!!!!?????
    Carla-Farla!! :)

i have TT CTN bottles. DS doesnt seem to be able to get a proper latch on then, so is constantly dribbling a stream of milk from one side of the teat. and then i have the problem of him gulping down the milk - which gives him loads of wind. and his last feed, he was sick all over me, twice, which was only a 4oz feed, of which he took 3oz.
anybody have any similar problems, and found a solution!?
im not sure whether to change his bottles or not, as he is only 10days old, so possibly still leanring to suck and latch properly?!??

I have about 6 TTcloser to nature bottles sat in the kitchen - none of them likely to be used *sigh* we tried them but Alexandra just can't get on with them... She gets on perfect with Avent and the bottles that came with the Medela pump - the TT ones seem to have been a waste of money for us :(

You can fit different wide neck teats on them, can't you?

Hold on, I'll go try for you..

ETA: Cancel that thought.. The NUK wideneck teats don't fit on the TT CTN bottles anyway (not wide enough!) :(

Oh dear, I need some help

I've told the girls that 'on the site I try and save some money' i've been talking about them and asking for a bit of advice and it got a mixed reaction. I expected it from the 16 year old, although being told i'm a loser and going to bed in tears, slamming her bedroom door shut was a bit much :o

The 11 year old surprised me the most, called me a name that is unrepeatable (i've never heard her use it before and their will be consequences tomorrow) and said she thought her Mum may read it and come back and she'd hate me forever if she did :o Her and the 10 year old are the easy going two of the non twins. I'm shocked.

It will pass over, but even thick skinned me has been taken back by that. I think they must think I don't have feelings.

The twins just nodded and 10, 13 and 14, okayed. 14 just asked if I would tell them what I say about them, which I will, no issue. Oh and 13 asked if I was on the pull  Cheeky madam

So 16 and 11 are an issue now.

I've always dealt with issues myself, and I shall again, but if anyone has any idea :o Sometimes it's nice to have an outside view and I don't wanna ask SIL or a friend, makes me feel weak

4 are in bed, the 3 elders are still up, although 16 is upset and tells me to go away when I knock on her door.

I'll have to go back and try again. 13 and 14 are talking to me about what I told them. They are inquisitive asking lots of questions.

Maybe I should have kept my mouth shut, but I didn't want to keep it from them.

The person who suggested I tell them, don't feel any guilt if you do, as I would have told them anyway.

We have moments like this occasionally.

I'll reply to the other posts later and sorry if i've talked too much
  • Hmmm - I think I am a bit less 'touchy feely' than you. If my 16 year old called me a loser and stomped around she would be grounded immediately - no trying to talk her round, she would be in big trouble until such time that she apologised.

As for the 11 year old - if she was using words that cannot be repeated on a forum there would be a severe talking to to be had.

But I am quite strict -thank god hubby thinks the same as I do.

Sorry if that is not particularly helpful MOTM

Ooooh that looks nice, if you come next time I might have to send someone to distract you while I thief it for a try on... Or I could ask nicely ;-)

I thought it looks similar to yours, but not as stiff! I think i'd prefer it stiffer, the head bit that can stand up if asleep, or fold down if awake!
Also, although my friend hadn't really used it, I washed it and it looks a bit faded after one wash - but the cow print is cool! OH used it on Sunday to take her out (to some nerdy electronics shop!), but did it inside out so it was plain black!

Fritha - Up to what age would you carry a baby about in a sling?

One of the ladies today had her 3 year old on her back, and little baby on the front! The 3yo was tiny, but it still must have been some weight!! I've not used mine much, but walked too far in it last week and felt 38weeks pregnant again!

Spoke to her on FB yesterday or the day before - she is mega busy but says she will be back with us soon.

I had a hangover so I couldn't come today ;) other SILs birthday celebrations yesterday :D I was karoke queen

I use Benjamins name and will probably continue to do so whilst he is tiny. I don't use DSS name though cos he is not 'mine' to reveal IYSWIM!

Karaoke Queen - oh dear!

I normally use DS1, DD1 and Violet . I probably shouldn't as Violet isn't such a common name, so anyone searching would find my posts! (Not that i'm horrible about anyone - usually!). :o

Oh dear MotM :) I'm sure they'll calm down soon enough :) Have you explained to them that no-one knows who you or they are? Other than you're a single dad with some on the whole pretty sensible girls :)
And maybe try and explain to them that sometimes it's nice being able to bounce ideas off other parents just to make sure you're doing the right thing :)It's not that you value their oppinion less, just that sometimes people from outside can have some good ideas that you all might not have thought about?
