Well, the 13 year old hasn't had me take her to school since. When they hit 11, they can walk themselves, as school is 10 mins away and friends call for them on way.

I often get mistaken for 30/32. I'm a little bit older, but apparently i've aged well :rotfl: The tiny bits of grey hair at the sides mean i'm distunguished :rotfl:

I was going to ask when children are able to take themselves to school these days.
I'm sure I did when I was about 6 - but that was the olden days when there wasn't any weirdos about!
DD is insisting she's big enough (nearly 9, about to start Yr4), and i'm insisting she's not! Towards the end of last term, she cycled while I walked far enough behind so as not to be embarrasing mum! :D
Its about a 10 minute walk with just one small road which has a lollypop man.

(Is anyone picturing a George Cloony look-a-likey now, or is it just me! :o)

Anyway *waves hello to the slingy ladies* Twas good, next time I will have an actual conversation with Sami and 3! I didn't get a neb at your sling 3 what kind is it, it looked good :-) And Sami, the sling really is a lovely colour in rl, I didn't manage to get to you or send someone to you but if you tuck Ed's head into on of the crossed over bits you might find it easier to keep him steady and tighten the pocket bit. I can hunt down a photo of what I mean if you like but it looked very good to me! As long as you're both happy in it :-)

Its apparently one from this lady http://stores.shop.ebay.co.uk/Eira-Jaye__W0QQ_armrsZ1 but I got it from a friend :money: who couldn't get comfy in it at all!

does she want silicone ones instead of latex? if so savers do them, and so do asda

Which is which? Are the silicone the clear ones, and latex they yellow/browny ones?
Violet will only have the cherry yellow/browny ones, as would the older two. There was a thread on here a while ago about some being discontinued and people were charging silly money for them on ebay!
(Goes off to find the old thread!)

I am having the exact same argument with ds1...In the last term of school we would get to the corner that the school is on and say let him go off ahead from there, but he keeps insisting he can go the whole way by himself now

    and yes:o

Fritha - Up to what age would you carry a baby about in a sling?

Keira is still awake and really testing my nerves, she won't sleep because she is hungry but she won't eat her dinner, it's been there since 5pm and she's whinging on for weetabix and yoghurts but she isn't getting them.

    i need some advice...
i have TT CTN bottles. DS doesnt seem to be able to get a proper latch on then, so is constantly dribbling a stream of milk from one side of the teat. and then i have the problem of him gulping down the milk - which gives him loads of wind. and his last feed, he was sick all over me, twice, which was only a 4oz feed, of which he took 3oz.
anybody have any similar problems, and found a solution!?
im not sure whether to change his bottles or not, as he is only 10days old, so possibly still leanring to suck and latch properly?!??
    Carla-Farla!! :)

Mummy to Katie (27.11.07) and Christopher (05.08.09) ♥♥

Its was lovely to see Sami & Fritha and children again today, and to meet the lovely Sparkle and Glamazon. (Thanks for organising it Fritha and well done on your first meet). :D

I was thinking earlier - where SeptemberBaby? I've not seen her post in a while. Was she due a holiday?

Spoke to her on FB yesterday or the day before - she is mega busy but says she will be back with us soon.

I had a hangover so I couldn't come today ;) other SILs birthday celebrations yesterday :D I was karoke queen

A lot of posters don't use names and will just say dd1, dd2 etc....

    Mel x

I use Benjamins name and will probably continue to do so whilst he is tiny. I don't use DSS name though cos he is not 'mine' to reveal IYSWIM!
