My Tesco shop is due today, and there isn't much food on it, and it cost £86!! OH wanted to meal plan, for a week, so we did and I had to buy all the ingrediants, like red wine, and WE MUST HAVE OLIVE OIL, that was £8 alone! That won't last us long, when he gets paid next monday I'll need to do another shop. I'm crap!
Then OH went onto wanting to do a 2week plan and I was like well stuff will go "off" like sour cream/creme fraiche/jacket spuds will sprout etc. Then he started wanting to be militant about everything on the list, do not buy that mince on offer as it's not going to be used this week - ITS MINCE, IT WILL GET USED NEXT WEEK! Anyways we ended up arguing well into the night, not just about that, but seriously I don't like empty freezer/fridge/cupboard. It makes me feel poor and it's not wasting anything if you effin use it! He's going on about if you buy extra things this week it leaves you with less money, ITS BASIC ECONOMICS KAREN, I was like !!!!!! I know what that IS, but we don't have to watch money that closely so we can AFFORD to buy things when cheap and stock up, thus saving money in the long run. HE COULD NOT GRASP THAT FACT. He's going on like we are on the bread line, we have 1k a month spare after bills/utilitys, not including food, but even if food shop came to £500 it's £500 left for FUN THINGS.
Wow sami, maybe I should have another kid, I only get £40 a month CTC and no WTC lol. OH doesn't even earn that much, it's cause we are in council housing/don't have a car, that we have a bit spare.
On a better note, Keira is now DUMMY FREE! Hurrah! I was watching supernanny, there was an episode about a fussy eater, and I'm going to try that the tips they gave, and probs get a reward chart as an incentive to try new foods, anyhow i watched another one and the 3yo still had a dummy, but he had a funny shaped mouth, the dummy was pushing the top set of his teeth/mouth forward? Same with his older brother who was on dummys till 6, and he had a really noticeable lisp and pertruding mouth. So that was it! I took them all away (the ones I could find!) and told her the dummy fairy was taking them, and she would leave her a sweet. It worked! She hasn't even asked for one and slept last night without a dummy, first time since she was born!
On a bum note, I only had 1 nappy left last night, and she was MEGA constipated, she didn't sleep till 3am as she kept bucking and whinging, and I kept putting her on the toilet but she was crying her eyes out as she was in so much pain and was obv uncomfortable sitting at that angle, she eventually did it in her pull up, so then she slept in my bed, with pants on, woke me up at 6 having peed herself (good job I put 3 towels under her lol) then she went back to sleep until 11 and didn't pee then.
How do you get kids at night dry? Does their body learn to hold it in/wake themselves up?
I wish she would stop holding her poos in so long that they come out like a brick and the size of one. It's obviously so she doesn't have to go to the toilet:rolleyes:0 -

DS had 2 elasticated nighties that did him from a month or so old until he was 12 months.
These are only £10 for a 2 pack in Mothercare.

 My Asda delivery turned up earlier - with some very bizarre replacement products, and a bag of someone elses shopping I think! So some interesting and different meals for us this week!
I gave up on Asda deliveries a few years back because of substitutions and stuff near to date - but used it again when I was massively pregnant and got a few good deliveries! But this has got to be the delivery most different to my shopping list!
Does anyone use Tesco or Sainsbury deliveries - are they any better?
I've been very good and written out a meal plan until we we go away on 27th, so i'll use stuff in the right order - it drives me insane throwing food out!, or I put stuff in the freezer and forget about it for 6 months, and then bin it!:beer:0 -
I used to shop with Asda, all the time 3, until I got two bad deliverys in a row. I had ordered lots of heavy things - cat litter, diet coke, box of nappies, storecupboard cans (think at least 5 of beans, kidney, pinto, tinned toms etc) it wasn't light anyways! This guy didn't even use the trolley, carried it all by hands, and then dumped it into my hall as it was so heavy, except yoghurt burst when he did that, and i didnt notice until I had moved it into the kitchen, and because asda have those holes in the bottom of their carrier bags, it left a trail of yoghurt all over my carpet, I had to clean loads of things, and my fridge smelled sour because of it, and they had packed meat (which burst open as he practically caber tossed the bags in my hall) in with fruit & veg. I was not pleased! They gave me a £5 gift card.....
I use Tesco now, and you get better online evouchers for them, like £10 off a £50 shop etc, and the drivers are lovely. Only thing I do prefer with asda, is the substiutions, as you don't pay the difference, with Tesco you do.....
My oven is burning and I can't figure out why, whenever I use it lately it blows out smelly smoke and it sets the fire alarm off, it's really annoying, I can't figure out why, I just cleaned it not long ago, I put a layer of tin foil down on the bottom too, to catch drips or w/e, but the new bit I had just put in was burning! There was a pile of grease or something on it? I think maybe the trays are gross or something....
At least the smell has kept the cats away from my roast chicken!0 -
I use Tesco and it's pretty good.
My only gripe is when you buy something on offer, they sometimes sub it with something that isn't on offer and it costs more. Last shop was fine, but the one before, I'd ordered 2 x 4 Crunchie choc ices on a 2 boxes for £2 offer. They were subbed with some Crunchie lollies which were not on offer and £2.99 for a box of 3. I didn't mind spending £2 on a treat for my lot, but no way was I going to spend £5.98 on ice cream so I sent them backHere I go again on my own....0 -
i used to sainsburys but switched to tescos as sainburys never do discount code and i get the same amount (i know how to shop on a budget) .. i tried asda 3 times and all 3 times they mesed up sooooooooooooooooooooooooo badly i refused to use them again ... BM i plan roughly a month (which to me is 4 weeks) of meal eg ... 8 chicken meal 10 mince meat meal some pasta bakes and quiches ... then buy generally keeps it low but then on the odd time a cheeky something lands in my trolley
x
Still searching .....:)

Searchie - would you like a new job of ordering my shopping and creating my meal plan!
(Hey - you could even come and cook it all if you're at a loose end!) :rotfl:

I have used Tesco for about 4-5yrs for shopping deliveries.... I have never had a problem, only thing is the subs but they sometimes pick decent subs. I did try asda about 3 times on two of the times they messed up, the second time they both overcharged me AND missed off load of my items... It took me 3myhs to get it sorted out!!!!! I will never use them again.
Has anybody got the huggies swimmers so I can check the weight the small fits, I have till tonight to change them if I need to:)

Hurrah, the swing seems to be a hit
Well, that combined with a big (aka normal size!) dummy and Classic FM on the radio
The swing looks really fast to me but he witters when it stops so we've switched the response thing on and he's a happy bunny (or it goes faster when he's not!)
Wallpaper stripped from our bedroom ready for a replaster tomorrow and OH is tidying up the front garden as we speak.. I've only nipped in to make tea for the worker!0 -
