  • SM - is there anything in the city centre or on a bus route? There must be somewhere with some people on your wavelength?

Ps. Chris is now in 'kids' sizes not infants :( he's all grown up

They're so cute! I need a little boy - my Joes size 5 smelly almost teenage feet just don't look cute any more!

I have met a mum through netmums who happens to live about 2 mins away from me, on the street around the corner and have been in touch with a few others that live in the same town too:)

I agree with both of these too:D

    Mel x
scruffy ... short nope ... even shorter .. no ... no one i know will go with me apart from philip and the kids i have a friend but shes far to self aware and complains shes to fat i feel the same way but i need to get out and do something 5 days a week in the house min is getting boring ... im meeting my work friend for lunch on monday and im looking forward to it as it gives me something different to do x

I agree with net mums too! I've been in touch with a few mums but haven't got round to meeting any yet. My group does a once a month meet with the children, and a once a month mums only meet to the pictures or something - but i only really joined just as the school holidays were starting, so i'm planning in joining in something in September.

Mel - i take it you have a Cheshire net mums? Mine is South Wirral and they do there kids meets at Eastham Country Park which is probably about 10 minutes away from you.

SM - my problem is that all my mummy friends, are mummy friends from when my older two were babies so they're now at the stage that they've got their lives back, are working again and have no interest in sick & poo! (And they think i'm a bit mad for going back to it!):rotfl:Theres a couple of girls in my road with similar aged babies, but they're about 18 so we have nothing in common!

Elle are you there somewhere, How did Ryhs get on at his app? I hope all is well, no doubt you'll be on with an update soon. You were only a way one night were you? Someone correct me if I'm wrong which I'm sure you will!!!!

Hiya, I'm here :) Been catching up..

MFD, congrats on finishing your tender :D How long til you find out if you've got it?

Hurrah for all growing babies :D Rhys was 40g less today than Tuesday at the HVs but that's nothing to worry about apparently (nappy on on Tues but not today). He's 48cm long now.

Appointment went okay. Sometimes I wonder why they drag us all the way down there as they only want a chat and to do bloods which they could do over the phone and have Grimsby do the bloods, but hey.. Had extra bloods today so we don't have to go to the Unit tomorrow morning for the repeat - Notts will just phone through the results, so fingers crossed it was enough time for the calcium levels to drop otherwise we'll end up having more done on Saturday :(

Basically, the specialist is happy that Rhys' kidneys are working better and explained it as "buying us some more time" before further treatment (aka dialysis or transplant) is required. We did already know this, but obviously it wasn't nice to be reminded of it. We don't know how long his kidneys are going to "last" for - it may be that they get good enough to cope with processing the crap from a 3stone body, but not a 4stone one so that's when we have to start looking at other options. We just need him to be as big as possible if/when the need for a transplant comes up as then he's got a better chance of getting one - as horrid as it is to say, there is about a zero chance of him getting a transplant now (thankfully he doesn't need one now, obviously) because there are no donors of his size, iyswim :( For now, it's just more monitoring, meds and 3monthly apps at Notts.

After the hospital we went to Ikea. Got a few small bits and have decided on a table, chairs and sideboard - amazingly easily as OH was adamant he wasn't getting rid of the table his parents [STRIKE]offloaded onto[/STRIKE] gave him. Going to ask my parents to look after Rhys for the day sometime and go back to get them - I don't think Ikea deliver to our area.

I've been feeling really stressed and on edge all day :o Snapping at OH but then he has been incredibly stupid sometimes so I think it was justified  Having a cuddle with Rhys now.. he should be in bed, but I've missed out on our usual cuddles all day so I'm making the most of it :)
