  • Ok ladybird bizzare question why do you have a tissue sticking out your shoe in ur FB pic of visiting granny!!! My mum always tucked my tissue up my sleeve :rotfl:Everyone will be away lookin at ur FB page lol

You have eagle eyes there! It was because I had a blister and no plasters. And I didn't think wandering round a hospital in bare feet would be a good idea ;)

And I totally forgot what i came on to share with you all:

Alexandra slept from 8pm last night till 6 this morning!!! That's a whopping 10 hours and a new record!

AND.... it was in her own room!!!

:T:T:T:T:T Yippeee, well done her :) I've discovered that having a snack before bedtime means Izzy will sleep through till it isn't worth going back to bed again (not for quite as long as I would like, but near enough ;) ). She had a snack in the evening 2 nights in a row and I had a lovely sleep, didn't get round to it last night and had to get up at 5 to feed her. Not that I'm not giving her a snack when she is hungry, but that having something extra tops her up enough, if you see what I mean.

On the subject of bacon, when we were kids we used to cook pasta, drain it and put it back in the pan, crack an egg or two into it and stir till the egg was all absorbed/cooked, and then mix in chopped up grilled bacon. Or you could do pigs in blankets (or chicken breasts wrapped in bacon?)

I'm a veggie these days, so my bacon inspiration is pretty much gone these days ;)

We eat lots of pasta and pesto with vegies (normally onion, spinach, mushrooms and sweetcorn, but it depends what needs using) with grated cheese and maybe some olives or pine nuts over the top. We used to do lots of tomato based pasta sauces too (bung some veggies, and a can of toms in a pan with some herbs and hope for the best) but DH can't eat tomatoes these days.

If I'm cooking for me, I love aubergines and halloumi or aubergines and smoked tofu fried up in lemon juice and sweet chilli sauce (I get big bottles from the chineese supermarket :) ) - the aubergine and tofu absorb the lemon juice and it is scrummy. Goes lovely with rice or wholemeal pasta (or plain pasta, but I prefer wm)

  • I've just looked down and discovered Izzy chewing on the cork from an empty bottle of wine . (It was one of those ones with a clipy bit, so if you open the clip it is really easy to take out, but if the clip is closed it is air tight)... I don't think the amount of wine residue left on the cork is anything to worry about, but I'm sure she shouldn't be getting a taste for it at just under 7 months. Oops :rotfl:

I better put away the cork from the bottle of Krug hubby and I had after Alexandra was born that we bought for our wedding night, then took on honeymoon to Egypt, and back and then decided to keep for a special occasion which soon became "when the baby is born" :rotfl:
Imagine if the toadfish got a taste for Krug

Had a busy few days (for a change) since I introduced myself on here - been to parents in Dorset for a weekend and then up to the big smoke on Tuesday for my flexible working meeting. Took Harriet with me and she was an absolute angel, charmed all my colleagues - ended up paying for it yesterday as she was a right grump all day - seems to be in a better mood this morning though.

There have been some lovely pictures of babies and dogs in the last few days - thanks for sharing!

Finally a question - as H is now too big for the baby bath has anyone used a bath support before going straight to the big bath unsupported? I've seen one in Tesco for about £6 and it looks pretty sturdy but was wondering if anyone had tried one?

    Ta
We didn't ever use any support for Chris as soon as he had some decent head control he was in the big bath with daddy who came for free :money::rotfl:
EBM does separate Sami - if you heat it slightly and swirl it round it comes back together again and is fine.
Makes you want to cry when your house white goes down the drain doesn't it!!
    ...

Also - how about fajitas? simple and kids love em! I make a spicy version for me and hubby and a plain version for DSS.
    ...
it didn't just separate like normal though it looked a bit kinda curdled so I was worried it had 'gone off' :undecided I kknew I should have taken a photo :rotfl:

PLAIN  :naughty: Chris has the exact same fajitas as us and loves them :D he's so clever that if they're a bit hot he knows to ask for milk not juice :T
he's mummy's little genius (yes I know its prob not that amazing but he is to me!)

Well am still feeling decidedly minging this morning. On the plus
side DH is starting to feel better and has
been very hands on with Dan this morning, he even let me stay in bed and
got up to do the early feed. He then went for breakfast (mcdonalds helps with colds right?)
Daniel had his 1st shower today - he wasn't sure to begin
with but then started laughing and loved it. He's now having a nap upstairs after being rather amused by mummy drying her hair!

Wi3adora - did you use a hairdryer? That always makes Toby giggle! How did the shower go? Is it easy to keep hold of them? I'm off for a bath shortly. Haven't found a seat that is big enough for LO so I just hold him.
