MrsTine, Ello quite often refuses to feed, You've probably already tried this but I can generally get her on and to stay on by standing up and rocking/walking about whilst feeding. It makes me look like a loon but it has the desired effect.

I'll try it, but not sure my back can stand up to it... It's not been right since I was pregnant and I struggle walking round with her cuddled up let alone feeding, but if it's enough to get her latched on then she might stay there once I sit down again :)
    Thanks for the suggestion!

*hugs* and thanks.. I was wondering where you were :)

They're testing his parathyroid as well as calcium levels - high calcium is a sign of a parathyroid condition which we already know he has but then he needed calcium to compensate for his kidneys.. it's all about a fine balance and we've obviously got it wrong at the minute. It must be on the high side of high as they've cut the meds altogether. I'm assuming if they've chosen Friday for a repeat test, that's only two and a bit days without the meds so they must think it'll go down quickly without them.

Can't help with the boobie issues but I can sympathise with how frustrating it is - Rhys is still in the first stages of the bouncing and faffing around

Yeah I know about the parathyroid - if you remember my cat had high calcium levels a few weeks back and I got the crash course in calcium levels and what it might be etc - speaking to the nurses next door it's the same for humans and animals by the sounds of it...

From what I found out then yes the calcium levels should show improvement very quickly if it's the meds and they have taken him off them :)

Thats what I do, if the rocking standing works to get her on I can usually sneakily sit down if I keep rocking and she'll stay there. Its often a problem when she's teething. Good luck! Its hard work.

Hugs Tine. No useful advice, but Violet has been fighting with the boobie for a few days now, except for the first thing in the morning one and it makes you feel pretty useless!
Was she weighed by the HV today? Was she concerned?

No it's a DIY weigh thingy here... I mentioned it to the HV but she wasn't hugely concerned but then she was trying to do a couple of things at the same time so no idea if she cottoned on to the fact the weight was well below the 50 percentile... Will go back in a week and see what they say and if the weight has improved.

I find Caitlyn's not keen to feed when I'm sitting downstairs and the tv is on, especially if she's tired... I bring her upstairs and lie down to do it and she's a lot more relaxed and will feed better... Some days I spend a lot of time lying on the bed!

Don't know what my neighbours are up to but they've just slammed a door so hard my house shook! Probably rowing again, it's one of her favourite things to do when they row... I really dislike her!
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...
Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

Tine, try not to get too fixated on the centiles. As long as she is gaining weight, healthy and happy she will follow her own line...

What centile has she been on until now? I assume she's normally above the 50th if you're worried about this?
