  • said to savour every second of him, things can change in an instant.
My kids are everything to me, I just need to slow down and appreciate them a bit more sometimes :)
This is so true there was a tragic accident last year and my cousins baby was killed aged 1 year and 12 days although I adored my children before this, I think it changed my whole outlook on life - i started thinking so what if she needs a cuddle during the night it wont be forever, I started maybe being a bit paranoid about accidents that could happen and didnt really let them out of my sight, its coming up to the anniversary of her death and there is a charity event organised which tbh I am dreading as I still get upset about it now.

  • Thanks MM - it is so much worse when its a child - but we are helping my cousin to cope. We dont see alot of Mil thankfully - maybe twice a year tops!! but I see my mum everyday more or less, she only lives 2 streets away and is always on hand for the kids. I am really lucky that we are so close and good job Oh gets on with them too - think they are like the parents he never had, he didnt have a very good childhood which is the main reason I would never let MIL look after LO.

I'd hate it if my boys grow up and move away to have families :( I'll hopefully be the really helpful doting Grandma although I bet whomever ends up my DIL will probably be doing just like all of us do and be moaning to her friends about her overbearing know it all MIL :rotfl:
I'm really close to my immediate family and can't imagine being apart from them. I hate that my sister isn't just down the road, she's almost 2hrs drive away now and she dislikes the distance as much as me. I hope she moves closer to home before she has her babies but I won't hold my breath because she loves where she is now and TBH its nicer than here.
The very best is sometimes what nature gives us for free.
