I got about 20 times as much stuff when Jas was born than with Dylan !!
I think it was a bit different for us though, as we were very young and everyone felt sorry for us so gave us loads of stuff !! Also she was my mum and dads 1st grandkid and all of my dads friends bought a present as he was SO excited !!
This time, everyone just assumed because my nephew is 1 that I would get all of his stuff.

Just saying a very quick hello now I'm a Mama - my gorgeous daughter Molly Elizabeth was born on Tuesday, weighing 7lbs 3.

So far we're convinced she's the cutest and most advanced newborn ever to have existed, and she's a dream aside from her habit of christening new nappies in seconds and absolute refusal to be nekkid. We're also hoping she figures out that night time isn't playtime sometime soon.

Sorry to interrupt the conversation - as you were :)

    Quick question on breastfeeding.

One of nipples is sore and chapped feeling with orange crusty bits (that bleed if picked off). It's her prefered side and she has been sucking a lot! Her position is ok according to the nurses. I'm also having to use the hospital pump to express.

Any tips on how to help it before I go asking to be poked at? Put some vaseline on to stop the pad sticking to it.

(had the lil lady on thurs at 9.21am by elective section by the way. she is in special care for low blood sugar and mild jaundice but doing well)
Nurses can't always tell just by looking, how does it feel to you? Did they sit with you while you positioned her and watch a whole feed or just have a cursory glance on their way past?
Vaseline is a very good choice, and all you need really. It works just as well as the super expensive stuff, smear a little on after each feed and you don't need to wash it off. You can also try rubbing in a little breastmilk if there are actual cracks and try and let lots of air get to it (not easy on a hospital ward I know) And if all else fails... See that number in my signature? ;)

This is exactly what we have been telling ourselves for months Ladybird :/ I feel your pain, but as it turns out there are rather a lot of babies that cannot sleep through by now, or by 1, or even *shudder* by 2... :(
I won't tell you that Aimee was 4 before she started sleeping through consistently Bruno...
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...

Ahh, that explains why then !! I always wondered why you allowed Zoe to go to your sisters, and I just assumed that she didnt speak to your mum either !!
