Is it really bad that I reached for the (empty) bottle on the table next to me - next to my wine glass! - to see what 3oz in is mls?! :o

I'd say that's blooming good cos I get about 100ml (3oz is 85ml) in about five mins with the Medela Swing (electric, no effort! :D).

Measuring my supply has all gone to pieces cos I'm probably breastfeeding 50% of the time now. It's usually as that's what's quickest to calm him down (he goes from asleep to ravenous in seconds!) and then cos he's getting good enough to stay there so I leave him. 40mins straight earlier..
I almost put it in mls for you but them though nah she'll know :p
I didn't think I'd get much because boobie didn't feel very full and I only did one side in case Ed woke but he's still asleep so if he keeps this up I'll express a bit every night I think (provided he takes a bottle/cup of the stuff) I'm hoping he'll take a bottle ok jut so I can have my hair done and stuff like that.
40mins is good :T Last night when Ed cleared me out he fed from one side for about 40mins then about an hour after finishing he fed for a whole hour on the otherside - don't know where he put it all!

Because he is/was on and off all the time, I don't really know when he's finished. I don't think it's that the milk stops coming, think it's just that he's got tired/bored cos it's taking more effort as it's different to the bottle he's used to.. How are you supposed to tell?

I just keep sticking him back on until he won't take any more/is asleep dunno if that's what 'they' say to do but he's happy and growing ;like a trooper :)
righ Ed hungry I'm off xx

:( The "not looking at him" thing is really hard.. he's so gorgeous I just wanna watch him and cuddle him all the time.. :( That said, it seems to be working - ha, she says, only two hours in!

Someone tell me I'm normal! :o:p

Welcome SS.. Sounds like Molly will fit right in here! :D How are you feeling?
Tired! The wound in my belly's very painful and the Germans only give ibuprofen. The child is curled up in my lap having hiccups. And I'm utterly in love. She's gorgeous, wide eyes at 3am or not.

Oh, I know that feeling well :D The in love thing, not the pain thing - I was drugged up on morphine all the way!

Btw, just to explain for those who don't know, SS is in Germany (or is it Bavaria, or is that the same place?!), hence the time difference.. she's not just delirious with sleep deprivation already (that'll get you tomorrow!) ;)

I wish they believed in pain meds here. I had to beg for 600mg ibuprofen. The OTC stuff my mother's bringing from the UK is stronger than the hospital grade stuff here. And yet my epidural was kept so well topped up!

Two nights now with no sleep at all. She still seems worth it.

(Bavaria's in the south of Germany where it borders with Austria :) )

    Morning all,
Congratulations SS, Tia, Hypno and Carla!

I think you're all doing really well at expressing. I've tried it twice now and got about 2oz each time which I'm a bit disappointed with. However I gave her some in a TT CTN bottle yesterday and she took it with no problem.

She is starting to coo and smile now which is lovely. Is it bad that I complain when I haven't had a break all day, but if someone else holds her I want her back?!

SS - I too had 2 nights without sleep, but amazingly wasn't walking round in a daze! I think your body just copes and gets on with it

My neighbour had a divorce party last night, don't know what time it finished, luckily we slept through the noise!

Well sun is shining here, hope you all have a lovely day x
