right I need to spend a bit more to get free delivery (I'd rather get something for my money than an invisible thing IYKWIM)
what do you think will be most useful/fun/used?

  • Jamie had his 8m check today (3w early for some reason ) which he passed with flying colours except he apparently should be saying 'mama, dada, baba'! He can waffle and babble for England but no definate words yet. Anyway, she is going to call me in a month to see if he's 'babbling' properly .

He is now 20lb 9oz and 71.5cm which is 75th percentile for both.

He also received his BookStart bag together with a Tommee Tippee cup and toothbrush and toothpaste! Didn't get those extras with Poppy and then she mentioned I shouldn't use 'baby' toothpaste but normal stuff!.

Heck, thats all that Poppy and Jamie have had since their peggies came through (as I have ooddles of trial baby tubes from Bounty bags :o). Bad, bad Mummy. She said that Poppy should have received the same but they must have 'run out'.

    Hi ladies,

Am so upset, my dog died today. He started being poorly about lunchtime. It looked like he had cystitis again like he had a few months ago. I was going to take him to the vets when DH got home. Anyway I was feeding Caitlyn in the living room and she fell asleep. It was quiet in the kitchen so I went to check how he was. He was on the dining room floor, I looked at his chest and could see he wasn't breathing, I called his name and he didn't respond. I can't believe it. I had to take him down to the vets, luckily my neighbours were in and put him in the car for me. He was like a child to me, it's not really sinking in yet. It was just so sudden.

Sorry for the sad note - hope you are all well. Sorry haven't read back today.
:grouphug: i'm so sorry, they're a member of the family arent they.

Yay Caitlyn - good girl! Once those 'not so much crying' days started things got much easier IMHO!!
they've started?! could've fooled me :rotfl: seth still spends all day either sleeping or crying! mostly crying lol! i'm wishing the days away at the moment, its always such a relief when he goes for a nap that while i dont want him to grow up and need less naps i cant wait for him to get that little bit older and be able to communicate what the japs is actually wrong with him!

Don't worry honey, in my area we're supposed to use adult toothpaste but I won't use it. they say it because the water isn't flouridated (sp?) but fluoride is poisonous (in large doeses) but it's the reason your supposed to spit out toothpaste but seeing as kids usually swallow all the paste there's no way I'm giving him adult stuff.
Also I gave him adult by accident once when I was in a daze and he screamed that it burnt because its so much more minty

We got given regular toothpaste at Alice's check but just used it ourselves. Our dentist told us that you should use baby toothpaste because it's lower in fluoride. He said about 1 in 100 of his patients has discoloured teeth from too much fluoride. (Although we're actually using fluoride free toothpaste for Alice.)

ETA: We do live in an area with a high level of fluoride in the water though.

Home and exhausted! Mortified though, we went by the carnivals after lunch and I put Keira and Ellie on one of the kids rides, the guy in charge came over and started speaking to me, went like this:

    Dude - It's hot today isn't it.
    Me - Yeah its boiling.
Dude - You don't recognize me do you?
Me - Er no, do I know you?
    Dude - No.
    Me - ???
Dude - Gimmie your number and you can get to know me better *WINK*

Omg beamer, my mum and older sister was standing behind laughing their heads off, I just mumbled a reply and scurried off.

    Super embarrassed.

I would guess either the cutlery or the rattle (depending on how many rattle type toys Edgar has already got?) Those bibs look everyso cool, and probably useful if you have a dribbly baby, but if not then you'll only be using bibs when you're weaning, and then you want a big the size of a binbag (or to feed him in just his nappy ;) ) - a dinky thing like that won't be enough!

Oh my! I'd be embarassed too - mind you, that kind of thing hasn't happened to me for years ;)

I've just realised I've sat here and accidentally eaten half a pack of jaffa cakes by myself - better hide the [strike]evidence[/strike] empty wrapper before DH comes home ;). Oops.

We've not acheived very much today - had a terrible night last night. She went down by 7pm, then was up again at 9:50, then when I got her to bed she was asleep for a whole hour before waking again, then woke again about 2:30, then at 4:something, and that was it for the night . She was very windy, and I think that was the problem. So have spent most of the day today attempting to get more sleep. Managed an hour curled up together in the big bed this afternoon, so feel much better for it.

We didn't make it to clinic yesterday, so thought i'd go make use of the scales in the waiting room at the doctors, but they weren't out today. Only time I've ever known them not to be there. I wanted to get her weighed again to make sure she is still putting on weight, as she is being a bit of a pickle with food this week. Might go back to the doctors on Tuesday and see if the scales are out then, if not I'm sure we can wait until clinic next week.

Anyway, we're off to see my Granny for a few days tomorrow night, so I'd better get on with packing, then we might actually be able to spend some time with DH tomorrow before we go!
