My_Fathers_Daughter wrote: »I'm a bit gutted to report that Benjamin was not discharged by the consultant this afternoon as we had hoped
She said that developmentally he is advanced and his motor skills are particularly good but he has lost weight over the last 4 weeks (since I last had him weighed) so he is now around the 25th centile for weight but the 91st for height.
She was pretty encouraging to carry on with the breastfeeding just to make sure he is feeding often enough for long enough but nevertheless I feel a bit deflated...
Another appointment booked for 10 December 2009 - I really thought that we would be free of the hospital after this afternoon
On the positive side, she is convinced that there is no birth related injury and she was impressed with all his skills but she won't discharge a baby that is losing weight...
hugs sweetie. You sound like you've perked up a bit now though. Wen my LO had the vomitting bug she lost lots of weight but has put it back on. Just think of it as you getting value for money from your taxes/the NHS - better to be safe than sorry I suppose. We would all complain if they 'missed' something that only developed later on (although I'm not saying that will happen - YKWIM;))
Anyway - tall, slim and handsome - what a heartbreaker he's going to be*makes mental note to introduce him to my LO when she reaches husband hunting age*
*mental note already made*
Mam tried putting her down for a nap, but instead she "decorated" the bedroom with a whole pack of nappy sacks and a pack of nappies. I don't think my Mam will be letting her have it again :rotfl:
At least it was your mum that had to deal with the fallout - she'll not to that again!
Caz- your work HAVE TO give you enough time to express if you need to. I know you don't want to push the point, but even an extra 5 mins would let you relieve the presssure and build a bit of a supply.....r.mac, you are so wise and wonderful, that post was lovely and so insightful!0 -
oh gawd - one of the mums from school phoned at 10 past 9 this morning and asked if I was doing anything in the next half hour and could she pop up with her 7 yr old son?! I said there's no way I'll be ready in half an hour, I haven't had a bath or got dressed yet. So she said she'll come at 11! She's one of those you can't get rid of. It's the last thing I need ATM especially after yesterday.
We were all up at 4.30 this morning. DH was crying, saying 'he'd be poking his head round the door now'. It's just awful. One minute you think you're ok, then the next you're in bits. I feel so guilty for not being in the room with him when it happened. He'll be on his way to Leeds now, the vets will ring when his ashes are back.

Morning all..
Physio is very happy with Rhys :j :T Said she's never seen such good head control in one so young and was exstatic(sp?) about seeing him roll from his side to his back, nevermind front to back or back to front (couldn't get him to do that at the time). He knocked blocks down for her which she was very happy about although I think it was just fluke on Rhys' partWe've got to do more time on his side bt other than than, we're doing everything right and she said he obviously gets lots of tummy time - that'll be the lying on our chests constantly then!
More faffing about with his medications - the repeat prescription I asked for the other day included a liquid form of something which we normally have as a tablet because the liquid form has something in it which Rhys can't have. The doctors receptionist has just given me a mouthful about how the GP spent ages working all this out for me and how it would be a major pain to, wait for it, actually do what the hospital told them! Am waiting for someone to phone me back now..
Tesco delivery coming between 12-2 so I've got to find room for all that. I've got friends coming over for tea tonight rather than us all going out to the pub like we usually do so I hope everything I need for tea comes with the delivery! Haven't set my shopping scanner up yet.. maybe I should be doing that now!0 -
I'm a bad bad bad bad person... I've just ordered the HTC Magic phone... instead of the iPhone I wanted :rotfl: well... Vodafone offered me a contract for £24.74 per month with 600 minutes, unlimited texts and unlimited internet from the phone and a one off £15 payment for the handset and free insurance for 3 months... So it's arriving Monday and I'll have a play with it and see what it's like... if I don't like it I'll send it back and cancel my contract and go buy the iPhone...
I'm holding out for THIS Carphone warehouse acted like i had 3 heads when i said I wasn't gonna upgrade until it was out  "but its not due out until nov/dec!" yes but its mile better than any of the phones I can have now so I think i'll wait a few months and get the phone I want seeing as I'll have i for 18mths!! *tuts*oh gawd - one of the mums from school phoned at 10 past 9 this morning and asked if I was doing anything in the next half hour and could she pop up with her 7 yr old son?! STOPTOBER CHALLANGE ... here we go !!0 -
Afternoon! Such a nice day again, meeting my mum and sister down at the beach with Keira, go for lunch at Jimmy chungs chinese buffet (I bet my daily allowance of calories is in one scoop of their rice, ho hum....) then we'll take them to the big park beside the beach, and perhaps the beach but tbh I don't like that one as junkies needles wash up sometimes !! Might even take Keira on the little kids rollercoaster, she loves it, I don't love the price though....0

Oh and Keira's new peppa pig backpack turned up today, its for her nursery but naturally she is wearing it now and keeps spouting off random lines "I love my backpack mummy" "It's so beautiful, I love it"
Bless her, she's too cute for words.
Sorry to hear about your dog, pink0 -
Has anyone got a sit me up cosy? Would you recommend it?
The physio suggested one, but I'm not sure - they look quite big and by the time we have the house sorted to have room for it, Rhys might not get the full benefit. How long do they last?0 -

MM, i just had a search on ebay. I've ordered clothes lables and some for sticking on lunchboxes etc, and both lots turned up the next day. Can't remember who the sellers were, but there are a few companies on there that do them for a couple of quid for lots of labels.Isabella Molly born 14th January 2009
