  • Em, that's awful :( I second the advice to go back tomorrow. You are perfectly entitled to not see a particular doctor, so tell the receptionist you don't want to see him too (you can always tell her you will be complaining about him!) or that you want to see a lady doctor?

Caz - I also second Bruno's advice to go to bed!

I think someone has swapped my baby with theirs, so own up, who was it. Izzy was asleep before 7pm tonight, so I've cooked and eaten, and nearly caught up on my internet bits. DH is still in the pub. He's having a terrible week at work, so is there with his colleagues... I don't blame him going in the circumstances, and can't really complain about it, but it's the second night this week, and it isn't getting the room safe for Izzy :( I need him to do something about the telephone cable (and all the other cables) which are stretched across the room at the moment - then I will need slightly less eyes in the back of my head ;)

Oh and elle, instead of rolling of the sofa we get crawling off the sofa here! She is so going to be crawling by the end of the weekend I think. I just hope it ends up being tomorrow night or Saturday while DH is around, not Sunday while we are away, or he will be upset to miss it.

Thanks guys - Bruno you made me laugh!!

Tara - it was Benjamin that was ill so it could well be that.

Susan - Benjamin was 75th when he was born and stayed there for a while...he was heading to 50th last time he was weighed.

But to be honest, he is still a little chunk, who is alert and full of smiles and giggles and who sleeps for an absolute minimum of 9 hours a night (cue a sleepless night in MFD towers ) so they can piddle off with their weights and measurements. Benjamin can be tall and skinny if he wants to ;)
I do understand the consultants point of view...there would be uproar if she discharged a child who was on the verge of being poorly or worse...

Having said that, since we left there at 4pm he has had a 6oz+ bottle with daddy and has drained both boobies twice - we are in fattening up mode!! I just need to feed him somewhere quiet and keep putting him back on when all he wants to do is have a chat

Is there anything I can do to improve the quality of my milk? I am happy to put him back on the same boob so he gets more of the fatty stuff but is there anything I can do to produce more fatty stuff?

    Elle - cute isn't it?

Finally! With regard to babies rolling off anything...remember that men generally have worse peripheral vision than women (they are hunter/gatherers so need a sharp focus on a single thing ;)) so don't just assume that because daddy is sat next to LO that he can see him rolling out of the corner of his eye.
    Sorry Bruno :o

Edit - did anybody see those Merino wool sleeping bags (and sleepsuits) that Bizzie Baby are testing ATM - absolutely lush but shockingly expensive!!

MFD: I'm not sure it's related but Ed is putting on weight like a trooper and I eat a hideous amount of cream, usually wrapped in choux pastry and topped with choc fondant icing AKA eclairs
