Tia, talking of flat head syndrome, who will tell me if Rhys is okay - the physio? Noone has ever really looked at him for it recently but the nurses used to say he would get it if he kept lying in his favoured position..

Unfortunately, everyone will tell you it's ok...

Trust your own judgement, if it's looking a bit flat, encourage him to lie to the other side, you can put a towel under his mattress to slightly turn his head a little, or swap what end of the cot he is lying at if he is looking at a favourite thing. Lots of tummy time (which he is helping himself too anyway). You can take a pic once he can sit up, looking down on his head. It's easier to judge on a picture, or sitting infront of a mirror.

Well I phoned the national breastfeeding line and burst into tears as soon as I tried to explain my problem :o

I have now expressed some milk which was agony in the short term as im feeling a bit more comfortable (but not much)

Im definitely going to the Dr's in the morning for the tablets and anti imflammatories I need. I think I still have a bit of the fever as im still breaking into cold sweats, but im definitely feeling better for having a good cry.

On the subject of carseats I got the Strata from jane as baby is not supposed to be scrunched up and is actually in a lying position which then adjusts into a sitting position as they get older.

On the subject of ocd, im far from overneat, and have accepted the house is always messy now due to the kids, but its always tidy at night when they have gone to bed. What I do though is count things :o

thank you, they do look brilliant but a little out of my price range :o i am going to try and list all seths things he has grown out of this week and see what i can get - if i can get £25 i'll get him a second hand one :o
there is an older style one on ebay which is a lot cheaper, its in my watch list and hopefully it wont get too expensive!!

Realised earlier he'd been lying on his change mat and been sick so it's made a puddle then he'd been turning his head so got it all in his hair. I only realised cos his hair went curly! :o
:rotfl: seth does that ALL the time! he also gets little matts in his hair sometimes if he's having a particularly active wiggly head day :o

I would try and get her to go to sleep again, but i can't face seeing her fight at the moment. SHe screams so much. I am trying to avoid her associating sleep with negative things (plus i'm scared she hates me)

honestly, i think half of her problem is tha tshe things she is older that what she is.

she can be sitting on the lap and she bounces herself trying to get off in the direction of where, or to whom she wants to go. very rarely does she sit on anyones' knee facing them because she will always left herself up to stand.
our babies may as well be the same  seth refuses to sit and fights sleep all the time too! we have now managed to get the sleep fighting under control though, mostly thanks to the baby whisperer book [STRIKE]you sent us[/STRIKE] that was given to us as a lovely gift ;) the routine went completely out of the window since he was ill and my nan had him for the week we moved, but the going to sleep nicely habit still stayed :) he is now quite happy to drift off as long as you are either hanging over the top of his cot or lying next to him. and cos it is easier we are more relaxed about it all which makes it easier too. i hope the new meds help, it does sound like she is struggling a bit with her reflux and it might have put her in dodgy sleep habits perhaps? if she has been in pain from it, that might explain why she is so against sleeping on her own? or maybe i am talking out my !!!!! ;)

means hat here too but it's not a 'nice' word for it. I used to get a snack if I said it along with damn, hell and bloody
if i'd got a snack i'd have said it all the more ;)

we've had a nice couple of days here in emlou towers :D not too much baby stropping and had the american office on tv which has made me chuckle all day :D
however, i am annoyed cos i did 4 loads of washing and put them out in the garden, only for next door to start a BBQ which has made it all smell of smoke :mad:

I'm sorting through all the boxes in the spare room and have found my "This Is Your Life" red photo album that my Grandma made for my 18th. Having looked at my baby pics, Rhys does look like me after all! (poor kid) He just looks like OH to me..

Oh dear, Keira slept in her car seat until she was god knows how many months! She would just howl and howl in the moses basket or cot, I remember my younger sister slept in hers too.

Plus it was handy if she woke up, just lean out the bed, shoogle shoogle it, Zzzzz.

Oh another note, Keira still has not pooped. Do you get childrens laxatives? I'll be going to chemist tomorrow if nothing has shifted by then!

She also tried a piece of macaroni & cheese today (which is a big deal for her as anything remotely un nugget like gets refused) She apparently didn't like it though.

Took her to the science center, was kinda rubbish though, I remember it was loads better before they moved locations. She liked the SCAREYS though.

Sorry to hear about peoples bad boobies, I didn't BF so didn't get thrush or mastitis, but I have the implanon implant and it makes my boobs leak colostrum, and I swear to blog, it gets blocked as some days my nipples feel like I've been sleeping with pegs on them

Huge sympathy Mrs M, nhs direct told me that inbuprofen was safe during breastfeeding which might help. If you can bear to put her on to feed that will help clear the infection faster and should ease the pain a bit (she'll be more efficient than the pump) but I wouldn't blame you if just the thought of that makes you want to weep in pain.

  • MrsM - I am sure you are not the first or last woman to cry when they call the helpline. Did you try a hot bath?

He is much better thanks emlou. Not quite 100% but he has got some colour back...hubby had been calling him casper :D

I think the massive poop helped too!

I have had some success in buying Benjamin a 2nd elephant and he doesn't seem to know the difference. He won't sleep without it so I am paranoid about losing it!

Actually, I don't know if he would sleep without it or not...do you think I should try him or just leave him to it?
