Elle have you tried a nursing pillow? It made a heck of a difference to feeding Alexandra! I tried one at a "New parents" group organised by the HVs and ended up going shopping for one that weekend! It's SO much easier on your arms and back - especially as they get bigger! :)

Elle Deff try a pillow for feeding if your arms get tired(can't believe no one at hosp told you that at the time!), did you have a body pillow for when preg? I've used mine as a BF pillow

Doh, why didn't I think of that sooner? :doh:I did try them in the hospital but he was still too small - used to fall into a gap between me and the pillow! I'll go fetch my V shape pillow from my Mum's later and give that a bash.

Elle, part of the reason DS2 was sent to nursery when he was 2 was to learn from other children. I saw a huge difference in him. So I'd guess if it works with toddlers it would work with babies? Personally, I would say yes, get him as much socialisation as possible. I'm sure the physio can explain it to you my brain is fried thismorning, was dreaming about fairies all night!

And I did love the hand clasping and rolling, he is doing great! Again, sorry about the jaundice thing, I'm giving him more problems, the poor wee guy!

My friend wants her LO (5mths) to mix with other babies but she's not keen on the community centre for now whilst the swine flu risk is still about so she suggested we see each other every week so the LOs can play together. Not sure it's going to help her LO, but hopefully Rhys should see what she does and learn from her :D

No worries, it was suggested he had jaundice from his blood tests once but went away again but the time they did the next set :) I'm going to borrow my parents camcorder to see if I can capture the rolling for the Physios - they're coming on Friday morning to video him themselves but that's his usual nap time so I'm not sure how much he'll do for them!

Aww Mrs M, huge hugs for you. Get in the bath and get some warm flannels on your boobs, the milk will just flow out and should ease some of the pressure. I know you're in a lot of pain at the minute but really the best thing you can do is feed or express your milk out. Find the source of the pain, the hottest redest patch and massage it towards the nipple to break up the blockage.

A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...
Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

They found the babies' heads tended to loll forwards, pressing the jaw into the chest, which made it harder for them to breathe.
Precisely why I hate putting Ed in his car seat, why do they put that stupid wedge of foam under their bum?! if that wasn't there he'd be much comfier and safer I'm sure  I can wait until he doesn't need the head hugger bit!

  • Sami - we finally got our poop!!

Benjamin was lying on the floor and you could hear the bubbling and trumping...so I left him to it for a while. When he had finished he rolled over and the back of his sleep-suit was sodden...and the carpet was wet too _pale_ I knew I bought a brown carpet for a reason ;)

TMI coming up: When I changed him it looked like curdled milk and had chunks in it so it looks like he definitely had some kind of stomach bug, poor thing.

When can you take the head hugger bit out? Rhys always looks so scrunched up in his car seat.

Sami - the foam bit comes out so you can have the head hugger in without the extra bulk....Benjamin only managed a few weeks with the foam bit in before he was too big.

Leave it in for as long as posible. Benjamin still has his in and he is 16lb + and over 70cm long.

Edit - and he is not scrunched up at all without the foam bit!
