you are allowed 30 mins after every 4 hours worked, but does not have to be given all at once

Really glad you had a good day doing it though Caz, do you know when you are working again ?

    Caz, info on breaks - http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Employment/Employees/WorkingHoursAndTimeOff/DG_10029451 :)

ETA: info on breastfeeding/expressing and work - http://www.hse.gov.uk/mothers/mothers.htm
Good practise, but no legal requirement, to provide you with somewhere to express. They must just provide you with somewhere to rest, but no mention of privacy in that.

I think it might just be me who thinks so Bruno :o....although hubby and DSS's mum agreed with me that it is not a word that a 9 year old should be using

Glad you had a good weekend.
I agree too :D my mum didn't let me say it

    almost right
Rest breaks - a break during your working day

If you are an adult worker (that is, over 18), you will normally have the right to a 20 minute rest break if you are expected to work for more than six hours at a stretch.
A lunch or coffee break can count as your rest break. Additional breaks might be given by your contract of employment. There is no statutory right to 'smoking breaks'.
    The requirements are:

    • the break must be in one block
    • it cannot be taken off one end of the working day - it must be somewhere in the middle
    • you are allowed to spend it away from the place on your employer's premises where you work
    • your employer can say when the break must be taken, as long as it meets these conditions
    http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Employment/Employees/WorkingHoursAndTimeOff/DG_10029451

do't forget they legally have to allow you enough of a break to express milk (although be careful how you bring it up, don't wanna p them off when you've just started)

I'm naughty... I machine wash everything... and put everything through the dishwasher... Life's too short for handwashing...

For MFD and those in the midlands.. There's another picnicy type thing at Pelsall Common on Wednesday for Internation Breastfeeding Week.

Mrs Moc, glad you've got a bit of relief. Fritha is right and you can take ibuprofen whilst breastfeeding. Try and get some probiotics down your neck too, antibiotics can make thrush flare up I'm afraid...
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...

Oh, and JM, Aimee would never eat anything that had a sauce or gravy on... Then she relented and would only eat things with a red sauce on... then she started having gravy things again... And now she'll eat things in white sauces too... So they get there eventually... I think you just have to keep trying...
