He's been sleeping in a moses basket, which was supposed to be his downstairs napping thing but due to my OH being a spoon it didn't work out right

    Just gonna be controversial :undecided...
Anyone watched the thing about poverty on CH4? I can't help thinking that they can't be that poor when the mum of the family is huge - if you can't afford much food how'd ya get so fat?

I saw the end of this programme and while I applaud the idea behind it, I felt it made for quite uncomfortable viewing....but I can't put my finger on why:confused:
Sami - you eat shoite :D
EDIT - I don't mean YOU eat shoite...I mean that is how 'you' (being a hypothetical person) get fat when you have no money.
[Somebody take this spade off me!!!]

Its not that I don't get on with my mum...but it just feels wierd!! I wonder if I will tailor what I put on there now because I know she is watching??

I still have a bizarre 'wanting to please' thing going on with my parents - they make me feel like a child!!

I am thinking about buying a hand-held electrical pump for when I have to go to work. The Medela Swing is hardly what you would call portable and it is so noisy and the TT handheld is okay, I find it quite effective, but it makes my hand hurt!!

This is totally like me - I am always looking for approval and overly value their opinions sometimes. Just as well they are very wise people;) I was terrified to tell my dad I was pregnant (despite being 28 and married ) in case he disapproved:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: He was happy thank goodness!

HOW MUCH for a sophie the giraffe (and why is it not geraldine the giraffe or something?) They are THE toy here aswell - all the boys have them. But Annabel is not getting one:o I'm currently thinking of listing her explore and spin Lamaze toy and buying her a second hand jumperoo - does anyone have one? and up to what age did you use it? there is one local to me for a good price ......

hope your sister is ok button we are the same here with the crashes we have a really bad bit of road and they all fly up and down it. we are all car mad here but its usually left to the racetrack or organised events. i think that they should limit the engine size for new driver(speak from experience!)

i have a very grumpy baby today nothing at all will settle her and she hasnt even fiinished her breakfast? the sun is shining so i think ill get the washing out!

we are talking about holidays and DH suggested florida but I passed on the idea because of LO age (6 months next week!). It's interesting to hear that Henry enjoyed Disneyland Paris at 8months - perhaps its worth us having a look at that?

Buttons hope your Sister is OK, you are probably not that interested in Disneyland right now but I have to put this down or I will have forgotten

The Davy Crockett is no good unless you have a car with you as it doesn't have shuttles to the park. I don't know when in November you were looking at but i found the Sante Fe 2 adults 2 kids for £444 going on the 10th or 11th of November.
    MFW Start Sep 07 £79484, Now £58774

Yep I know. We went with my parents, sister and her family (kids 4 and 9) and everyone was worried about Henry but he loved all food in hotel (went for the buffet of an evening - loads of choice) and I think he was fascinated by the colours and sounds.... my sisters 2 were sometimes scared of things and Henry wasnt!!! Obviously there were some rides we couldnt go on but the others did and they run a service where one parent can go on the ride and then the 2nd goes straight on instead of queuing up again.

They provided travel cot in room and there were special shops that sold nappies and jars if you needed them.... I guess that they have to cater for all ages....

Buttons - I'm sure your sister is ok. The police might have tried to contact your mum but she could have been on the phone to you or the lady that called her... Or your sister could have accidently given them the wrong number if she's a bit shocked etc...
If the boy in the car is seriously injured then there could be a LOT of police involved and co-ordinating who deals with a minor injury could be temporarily put to one side - especially if she looks older than 15 :) I hope they're both ok and although you're angry then it's not the boys fault if a deer jumped out infront of him... I've nearly hit deers several times and they can come out of no-where leaving you no time to react :(
As for limiting the engine size young/inexperienced drivers are allowed to drive - great idea... BUT... you don't need a big engine size to get some serious power... I had a Fiat X1/9 when I was 17/18 with a 1.4l engine... but because it was so light and so well engineered for it's time it could stand up to an awful lot of cars and certainly loose them on the bends. Yes I was young and silly but it DID teach me a lot about car handling :)
I think we should use the danish system over here: before you're even allowed on the road with an instructor (and no provisional licenses over there - you can ONLY drive on the road with a qualified instructor!) you have to complete I think it's 4 hours of driving in a "baby crawler" (not sure if that's a good translation...) - basically it's a safe environment with crash barriers, skid pan etc and unless you can cope there you're not unleashed on the public!

And still... there are plenty of accidents in Denmark too :(

Buttons let us know how your sister is doing!
