a maiden is a clothes airer or clothes horse. As I come from Lancashire we call THAT a maiden (although Dusty has aquired the term, from here from Northern flyladies).

My vocab is not great but I love words from other areas, cultures and religions. I love the fact that Eskimos have so many different words for snow and that in places where there is no breast cancer they have no word for it. Language can be such a personal thing.

Bathroom all done, just need a cuppa before I go into the shower.

At least he is giving you something, which like you say isnt a lot, but it is better than nothing at all.

I would be happy if my ex gave me nothing (which is exactly what I get anyway!) but he maintained his relationship with LO, if he was around for him, if he at least bothered his backside to acknowledge his birthday..... he just has no time for him at all.

At the moment he isn't giving me anything which is the whole point.. if he was I could afford to make sure we kept the house..those figures are just what I told him he needed to pay when we first split.. until I have paid off the overdraft I can't take on anything else.

the only thing he is giving me is aggro...

I really don't know where to start.

    Morning all,
That is me (re-)packed, took out a few things and replaced with the new tops I got. Also took out two skirts and replaced with a soft pair of trousers......leaving no skirts which is fine as trousers are more practical (also have shorts in anticipation of some sun!).
Just need to re-pack DS and lay out some suggestions for DH's case too, so off to do that afer I have read some of the thread......hope everyone is feeling alright and hugs to all who need one.

    Morning everyone...

It's grey and overcast here too. Yesterday's washing is still on the line as I was too tired to get it in when I got back last night. I've managed to have another go at de-stickifying the kitchen worktops, and had breakfast.

My plan is to get dressed, sort out the laundry, mow the front lawn if it hasn't started raining, empty the DW then hoover downstairs and mop the kitchen floor (it's sticky too). If the washing is dry I'll mow the back lawn, if not i'll go to the shop and hopefully do the lawn when I get back. I know I haven't finished my list (which I'm about to find), but I think I'll be giving the kitchen a thorough clean and starting on next week's list, as otherwise the rest of the house will be sticky too!

Jo - good to see you're being positive and making plans. I can recommend both monster and jobsite (I get daily emails from jobsite, and there is usually something worth applying for in the list that comes through). I checked our internal job board on Friday but there is nothing in Wales at the moment.

Valli - seeing as your kids are old enough to clean their own rooms (please note, I said old enough, not that they would actually do it!), why don't you find something else to substitute when those come round? (Not laundry though :p)

rose - I think having a daily list would be a great idea for you. You would have a plan at the start of each day, and make sure that those things were kept under control full time, so anything else would then be an additional improvement.

jjef - I hope you have a nice time with toots. Please give her my love and let her know that soappie is keeping us all in line!
