Morning,
Nice to see the new diary! Good luck with all your saving. Sounds like a good idea to set yourself some challenges. I am trying to get a cheque every two months on dooyoo so that spurs me on when I have been slacking.
Also I think it is a good idea that you do your own saving, you should try and persaude your OH to save as well though.0 -
Hey Dawn - yay on the new diary!
As Maria said you sound very determined, you can do it. The spending diary sounds like a really good idea, i never know where my money goes every month, so keeping track of it would really help. That way come the end of the month you can see just where you went wrong and make sure it doesn't happen next month.
Def try and persuade your OH to start saving - it shouldn't be all one sided. He's a big boy now, needs to see that! The very best things in life ... are free!

Trying to have a tidy up of the house at moment as its doing my head in, always such a mess, sometimes I don't like having two cats as everything is always covered in fur!
I have nearly a car full of stuff to take to a charity shop but its doing it, must have stuff sorted by next weekend so we can load the car up.
Posted my VCR on freecycle as don't ever use it, its been sitting in the same place for nearly 4 years now, would give to charity shop but most of them aren't allowed to sell electricals.
We had our loft insulated about six weeks ago, problems is now we can't use the loft so everything is stacked in our spare room, makes it look all horrid and cluttered, I would get rid of it all but OH insists on keeping c r @ pNow a SAHM trying to earn some spare pennies each month0 -
Hi lilmissmup
I have kept a spend diary since the begining of the month and I am shock as to where my money goes.

Just done the £1.50 for a free sim offer on Quidco, Affordable Mobiles Maria mentioned, should have done it the offer day when it was £2! Note on there now too saying only 1 per household but still an easy free £1.50.
I am trying to get back into daily clicks too, not a lot of cash but will all add up along with the scratch cards etc.Now a SAHM trying to earn some spare pennies each month0 -
Absolutely right - it does all add up. All those 10ps etc soon make it worthwhile.Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0

Yeah, the affordable mobile CB changed after a couple of hours! As i went to do it for my OH too, then saw it had go down to £1.50 for 1 sim. Luckly my £8 tracked straight away. But £1.50 it still good free money!
Have you done the 5 confused car quotes for 50p each? Also Triviala sign up 30p.Every penny does mount up!

Today is always the first day of the rest of your life!
It's great you had the loft insulated as that will save on energy bills next winter. Have you got a water meter? If there are just the two of you £40 a month seems a lot. Also maybe you could work on your phone bills? £47 a month for the two seems a little high - I have inclusive calls to landlines on my mobile contract which saves me a fortune!
You probably know this stuff but I think it's good to have a fresh look at your budget periodically.Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0 -
I deleted a post last night incase anyone saw it and wonders what is going on! Was about an issue I don't want to talk about at moment
Head in sand and all that.
The phone bill is just mine fire fox but stupidly in a contract for another 11 mths, can start reduce the tariff after September though.
Not on a water meter, should have got one installed but its a bit more of a hassle as have to get permission as renting. Now a SAHM trying to earn some spare pennies each month0 -
