Because I felt telling me to return (at my time & expense) was ropey enough (its at least 9 miles away) & I felt they should have sent it to me via post (in voucher or cheque).
Thats what I said in the email, that they didn't bother responding to.

So you think you should just be able to phone up a supermarket and get them to send you some money? I admire your optimism.

Well I am pretty sure that consumer law allows one to claim the cost of returning faulty goods, i.e. petrol and parking costs, and as this meal was faulty I think the OP should certaily be refunded the cost of returning the item and as there was no other means of getting it back to them except by taxi, they must reimburse that amount.

you must be very well off if you can afford to just bin products time and again but i,m not so well off as you and can,t afford to

And yet you can afford to buy pre-packaged food at £2.69 a serving?!?!

Essentially, you lacked common sense when dealing with this situation, but what's done is done, and lesson learnt.

Just write to Tesco, explaining what happened, and see what they say. I had something strange in my food before, and as I refused to go out of my way, I just sent a photo via email, and sent the object in the post. I got a voucher which covered the costs.
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)
  • We had a geezer at College a few years back who was living in a rented place with a microwave! and no cooker. Poor fool was at odds and wanted advice about getting the place kitted out, so we said to him, he had to go out and buy muppet food (You now the VAT added processed crap that cpost twenty times as much) to cook in the microwave and the council would give him an extra grant!

He did not come back the next term when the council refused his grant, but it must had cost him a fortune!
