Life Cleanse Scam: WARNING!

I'm currently on my 5th email to this firm on behalf of my sister. I've had this reply "In order to be able to issue you the full refund, we would like to ask you to forward us your bank statement with the charges you would like us to credit back to you. This document should indicate clearly that it corresponds to your bank account."
I'm not sure whether this is an automated email or not - do you think it's safe to send them a bank statement?!?!

@wellygogs.
Don't muck about. They're procrastinating - or worse!
Just ask your credit card to do a chargeback. The company has broken it's own T&Cs by being non-contactable and refusing reasonable requests for a refund.
There are heaps of occasions in my experience (see a link above to my website someone has posted, for instance), where the scammer will do anything to NOT pay, INCLUDING changing phone numbers faster than lightning and having an email address that doesn't work! Whoever heard of a reputable business whose email doesn't work? !! Go to my website - it works. Same as MoneySupermarket.com
Chargeback. It's the only way. They always fold.0 -
Blimey ... are there really that many people who want a colon cleanser?
Is it cheaper if you only have a semi-colon?I enjoy a pint of beer each night for it's health benefits. The other pints are for my witty comebacks and flawless dance moves.0 -
Sorry, but still drying my eyes, have had a good chuckle at this thread.
Sad to hear about your troubles though OP, not laughing at you.
Hope you get to the bottom of the matter...0 -
hauling this amusing thread back to the original point, my daughter yesterday received a parcel from this company, together with an invoice (paid in full) for £82.95. She had ordered the 'free' samples but had subsequently cancelled. A couple of weeks ago she spotted two unrecognisable transactions on her credit card, linked to Singapore. She immediately contacted credit card company reporting this as fraudulent use, funds were refunded and card was cancelled. On receiving these further pills we googled the company and discovered all the scam posts and realised it was them taking money from her credit card. I spoke with the company today who talk terms & conditions and 'you didnt cancel in time.' It was when I advised him I really didnt give a damn as card had been cancelled that he put the phone down. My daughter does have one slight concern though, as she reported these transactions as fraudulent use and perhaps technically it wasn't? Trading Planet would argue that she agreed to their T&C's? I have told her that given the number of people being successfully scammed by this company, and the fact that surely trading standards must catch up with them soon, they are unlikely to pursue her case further. I would welcome your opinions though? Should she get back on to her credit card company and explain?0

And very seriously..
The point is NOT what the service is or promises as an actual service. It's each to his own how they spend their money. I'm not judging or joking about that.
The point is that these sort of 'businesses', and I use the term in a very open manner, in the same way that the !!!!! is a 'business', the point is that they take money for the goods or service very, very promptly - but are then like will o'wisps when it comes to 'customer service'. It's a one-way-street for communication. Or a one-way mirror if another analogy is needed.
In my book, that means only one thing - a scam - and if that's the case, ask for an immediate chargeback using your card company, and if the card company say the T&Cs are clearly stated then reply that the 'business' has not adhered to their own T&Cs... therefore demand a chargeback because of fraudulent practice.
Simple innit?0 -
you're absolutely right. Maybe you could spare a couple of minutes to post that advice on the complaints board that comes up when you google trading planet as it seems that an awful ot of people are being fobbed off by banks and credit card companies when they try to go for chargeback. There are people being ripped off for hundreds, here and overseas, by these shysters...how they get away with it is beyond belief....my daughter certainly had a lucky escape, and learned a valuable lesson! She very nearly got cleaned out ;-)0

oh and incidentally, this is the same company that offers 'free trial' acacia berries for weight loss on practically every site on the web. And the teeth whitening products operate the same scam. I have decided ONLY to respond to offers recommended by this site.....any probs we can sue Martin!0

You really wouldn't want to get any of their products mixed up then, would you?? (unless of course you want a nice white shiney colon!)I enjoy a pint of beer each night for it's health benefits. The other pints are for my witty comebacks and flawless dance moves.0 -
Nothing, But theres nothing like the feeling of having your pipes cleaned out thoroughly; a lot of goo gets stuck. I used to use water enemas many, many years ago but ca't be bothered now.
Buy some Psyllium seed husks from an Indian Grocer or a health food shop. About £1 from an Indian Grocer or 3 to 5 from a health food shop. good luck getting your money back. The truth may be out there, but the lies are inside your head. Terry Pratchett
