Congratulations myaccount. Very pleased you got the birth you wanted, and are enjoying life with your newbie. What did you decide to call him (if you want to say)?

Edward is 5 weeks old tomorrow, and the time does fly by. He has been causing us a lot of worry, as he is not gaining weight as fast as he should be, and has lots and lots of dirty nappies every day. He was admitted to hospital for 5 days last week while they ran lots of tests and we are just waiting for the outcome of these now. He is still some way off his birth weight, and having come home in size 0-3 clothes being a big chappie, has been in newborn size for the last few weeks. I am still breastfeeding him but we have started supplementing with formula too to see if that will help him start to put the weight on. We have been told though that there is likely to be a medical cause for this, and it isn't just that bf babies take longer to regain their birthweight or any issue with how he is bfing, and we are potentially looking at either a lactose intolerance at the lower end of the spectrum to cystic fibrosis at the more extreme end. So the last few weeks have been quite stressful for us, but any get well quick baby vibes would be much appreciated.

Nicki,I'm sending lots of Get well vibes to baby Edward - You must be going out of your mind with worry.

Its good that they've got a move on re the tests etc ( instead of labelling you a neurotic mother & saying "we'll see how he is in a fortnight") They've obviously been very thorough with the tests & hopefully you'll know what you are dealing with soon.

Take care and please keep us updated (when you have a mo)

For reassurance, DD didn't get back to her birth weight for at least 6 weeks and always had loads of dirty nappies - iirc it was between over 4 months old that she stopped pooing when I fed her at night. She had tests at 1 year as she had dropped from 98th centile to below the 2nd, and the result was just 'small and perfectly formed'.

She's still tiny for her age - she is 31 months old and in size 12-18 month trousers and size 4.5 shoes. But however worrying it all is, it doesn't have to mean that there is anything wrong.

    Good luck.

Has the morning sickness kicked in yet ?

Thankfully I didn't suffer too badly - but I now seem to be suffering from various "aches & pains" ( I think that I must now have reached the "moaning stage"lol)
  • The morning sickness has kicked in, I've only vomited a couple of times but feel nauseous at least once most days. We were in a minor road accident yesterday (uninsured driver pulled out and went straight into the passenger door where I was sitting) so despite being checked over at the hospital I'm so worried. We had an early scan yesterday morning which was fine but hadn't banked on spending most of the day in hospital!
How far along are you Nottslass?

I'm 27 weeks - mind you it feels more like 37 weeks ( i wish ) Funny thing is I sailed through my previous 2 pregnancy's - I even worked right up until my due date, Must be old age.lol

We also had a car accident when I was 12 weeks, we had a tyre Blowout at 80 mph on the motorway, luckily we were all fine ( car was a blooming right off). Didn't bother going to Hospital but wished I had, as I spent the next few weeks worrying if ever thing was OK !

I've been watching "Birth stories" and they've shown a few water Births. The mums & babies look so much more peaceful & calm during and after the birth. (mind you it could be careful editing)

HI Ladies,Hope you are all doing well.

Had Hospital appointment today & everything seems to be going well - mind you The consultant said my fundal Height is measuring 30 weeks (only 28) ! I hope that doesn't mean I "cooking a big 'un".

4D scan was lovely - Mind you bean looks as if he/she has got a massive nose.lol (must take after OH side of the family)

Pram was delivered to my mums last week.We went for a Bugaboo in the end - hardly MSE,but this Baby has nearly blooming bankrupted us anyway,so we figured another few Quid won't make much difference.

Having the "Spare room" plastered on Wednesday, once thats sorted we can think about decorating - As we don't know what flavour we are having I think we'll stick with a cream/beige/magnolia type colour.

Only 6 more weeks at work :jCan't wait to finish as my feet seem grow by about 2 sizes every evening - Oh the joys !! can't wait for the piles to set in !!!

    Love to you all
