Bought mine for £60, but you can hire it through ana-wiz ltd for £14.95 a month, or less if you don't want to know heart rate and sound is reassuring enough. I love knowing bubs heartrate, it is usually a good indicator of whether I need to calm down and take time out!
Oh cool, i did see that online a while back but wasn't to sure of the website
Could it pick up my heartrate to?
I'll do some research tonightx

'Morning all. Just a quickie!
Well finally got the work issue (almost) sorted - I'm on 'garden leave' from now and due to finish on 9th Oct - when they have got all the paperwork though for me to check & sign.......
Was hoping to feel a load off my mind, but actually had a stinking headache since yesterday morning and still got it. Think it may be my sinuses (it is much worse when I bend down so maybe due to pressure?) have a GP appt this afternoon anyhow so will ask about that too.
Logging in may be a bit hit-&-miss for me for a while - have to get the home internet sorted finally when I am home (away for the w/e though) as I've been putting it off for ages, but it is really unrealiable so I am paying for a Cr*p service at the mo!
Anyhow, hope you are all well, ladies & bumps, & have a great weekend,

Hi all! I've not been online in a long while but wanted to come and see how you're all doing now? how are all your bumps coming along?
My little boy is 8 weeks old now, it goes by so fast! I miss my little newborn already lol. As for my pregnancy; i had a bout of labour at 19 weeks and spent 25 weeks with crutches and wheelchair because of pelvic instablity and he stopped growing 5 weeks early, but other than that it was fine. Despite being very sore and huge at the end i was still in NO hurry for my long awaited pregnancy to end - i think only someone who's struggled to conceive or had a preemie could appreciate that.
He was born at home in a birthing pool 26 hours after my water broke, just as i had hoped for (except the long labour part lol). I did take a paracetamol whilst i was waiting for the placenta but i think that still counts as drug free lol. I would definitely recommend a water birth, it was such an incredible experience. Just educating myself on how birth should be was so empowering, and to actually manage it has given me so much confidence as a mum - the perfect start to our sons life. After such a struggle to conceive and carry a pregnancy i'm so happy to finally hold our healthy baby in my arms - although i don't quite think it's sunken in yet! I still find myself wondering how this perfect LO is really mine?!
I'm managing fine with hand expressing and the manual pump everyday too. I think my best buys for pregnancy were the doppler (Bestman, like bebe) and the super huge pregnancy pillow. I loved the 4D scan too. The support belt i got from physio was a big help before and after the birth. For after i think the baby sleeping bags and nursing clothes. If there was anything i could change i would've taken more pregnancy photos and made a cast of my bump, i've got the best souvenir though so it's ok lol.
I hope everyone elses pregnancies end as well0 -
:beer:Congratulations !!!!!
It sounds as if you had a bit of a rough time during your pregnancy - But past experience reminds me that its all quickly forgotten !!!!
I'm hoping to have a water birth too - but unfortunately it'll be in Hospital not at home (considered high risk due to age)
I've got a 4D scan booked for Saturday,so I'm hoping that we'll get some good photos of our LO.
Take care & thanks for the update

Congratulations myaccount. Very pleased you got the birth you wanted, and are enjoying life with your newbie. What did you decide to call him (if you want to say)?
Edward is 5 weeks old tomorrow, and the time does fly by. He has been causing us a lot of worry, as he is not gaining weight as fast as he should be, and has lots and lots of dirty nappies every day. He was admitted to hospital for 5 days last week while they ran lots of tests and we are just waiting for the outcome of these now. He is still some way off his birth weight, and having come home in size 0-3 clothes being a big chappie, has been in newborn size for the last few weeks. I am still breastfeeding him but we have started supplementing with formula too to see if that will help him start to put the weight on. We have been told though that there is likely to be a medical cause for this, and it isn't just that bf babies take longer to regain their birthweight or any issue with how he is bfing, and we are potentially looking at either a lactose intolerance at the lower end of the spectrum to cystic fibrosis at the more extreme end. So the last few weeks have been quite stressful for us, but any get well quick baby vibes would be much appreciated.0 -
Nicki- Sorry to hear about Edward's difficulties, just need to hope that they find out the cause fast because then they can start doing something about it
Hope everyone else is doing ok, I am 23 weeks today, time is passing so slowly now! Everything is fine with us at the minute, had our anomally scan 2 weeks ago and everything was brill. Slowly buying bits and pieces of clothes, I just love them and sometimes cannot resist!:jMummy to 2 small 4 year old bundles of mischief!:j0
