I did try to find the heartbeat with my angelsounds doppler, and couldn't find it. It caused so much panic.

    Hiya EA!

I don't think you are unusual in that - I asked my MW what she felt about them, and she said exactly that, lots of ladies have contacted her in panic as they either can't find the baby's heartbeat, or find their own, which is much slower, and get into a panic.
She said that rather than buying one, she'd prefer me to go & see her if I felt concerned at any point and she'd find it for me so I could have a listen & be reassured! That was very kind of her, but I doubt she'd be happy if I turned up at her clinic every week - LOL! so I'm still a bit tempted to get one if I see one cheap enough on Ebay....

Evansangel, I've got the angelsounds doppler thinggy - of course I tried to use it too early, couldn't find the heartbeat and went into a mad panic !!!! me thinks its probably more trouble than its worth.

I'm going to have another go again tonight (now 23 weeks) - if I can't hear anything this time it'll go on ebay. But at least i know know every things OK with bean 'cos he /she seems to take great pleasure in playing football every night, just as I'm trying to go to sleep !!!

    Did you hear anything? :)
Im going to try again every week, if nothing by 20 weeks its going on ebay :)

My doc said i can go into him if i want to hear heartbeat but waiting times for appointments are 2 weeks at our surgery.

So i might hire a hospital grade one for a month :D

I have a hi-bebe bt200 lcd I bought from ebay (but different places gire them out) and it is fab. I have found heart beat near enough every time I have tried from 12 weeks (am 19 today) and it is so reassuring. However, I am fine with not finding it and trying again later and do not panic so it works for me :)

I still use it now even though I can feel movement, but probably will stop soon.

Bought mine for £60, but you can hire it through ana-wiz ltd for £14.95 a month, or less if you don't want to know heart rate and sound is reassuring enough. I love knowing bubs heartrate, it is usually a good indicator of whether I need to calm down and take time out!
