  • Remember spotting in pregnancy is very common. The fact that the test line is getting stronger is a positive sign,as is the fact that you have been experiencing strong pregnancy symptoms.

Can you go and see your GP and ask for a referral to your local early pregnancy unit ?

I'm sorry that I can't really post anything useful, but I'm thinking of you and pray that everything settles down & is OK.

  • Thanks Nottslass, i know about the spotting being common, and i will call the docs now and see if i can at least see someone, i think it is too early even for the early pregnancy unit. I will try and just carry on regardless, at least i am a little bit busy at work :)

Thanks again and i will try and stop worrying :)

The same thing happened with me this time round Leopardlady. I started to spot and cramp at around 5 weeks and couldn't have a Early scan until 6 weeks as there was no point. When I did finally get the scan all was well, and baby is now asleep upstairs in his moses basket! As nottslass says it is very very common to have a small amount of bleeding in the first tri and unless it gets very heavy or is accompanied by a lot of pain it is usually nothing to worry about. It might help psychologically though if you try to take things very easy for a few days until it stops again.

    Keeping everything x'd for you.
  • Thank you soo much Nicki, i know that i should not worry, and it is only bad if there is pain or clotting, but because i had a mc last time i think i am more paranoid! I have made my first appointment with the midwife today, so at least can get into the system. Thanks again, it really does make a huge difference :)

    HI ladies,
Thank you all for your kind words, i only had pink discharge and have had nothing since, so more relaxed and feeling sick and head achey again, so i am sure all is well :)
Saw my GP yesterday and he was lovely, so feeling a lot more sensible and relaxed, had a shock yesterday as was told i was presenting this morning for the Research Councils! So this morning had to get an idea of something to say?? as my current job is admin and not as a security consultant, but i think it went well? Then got back to work to find i had a meeting to go to straight away so just got to my desk and only got an hour before i can go home :) then tonight i have been invited out with some girls from work (first time :) ) to the cinema, so all good really.
It has also helped that my best friend called last night and left a message to say be calm and it is all normal, she gave birth two weeks ago today and i was her sensible head all through her pregnancy, so it was lovely for her to care enough to call me :)

Thanks again and i am sure i wll talk on here a lot more than it seems everyone else does :)

Hi LL, Things are looking good :j mind you, I don't think that anybody who's experienced problems TTC or has had a MC will ever believe everything is going to be OK until their precious little bundle is screaming at 2am ! Its good to hear that you have a good GP (they are hard to find)Did he get the ball rolling for your anti natal care ?

Somnium - How are things with you,are you blooming yet & can you still see your feet ?

Nicki - I was wondering how Edward was ? (don't feel you have to answer if you'd prefer not to)

AFM ,I'm fat, fed up and counting the weeks left at work (4):jI think we've just about brought everything we need -Just need to get the nursery decorated now,oh and start to think of names ( we can't still be calling it Bean when its 3 1/2)

Notslass - I'm growing bigger all the time but can still see my feet (not sure for how much longer tho!) Have felt really well over the last few weeks altho was off yesterday and will probably take today as well as I seem to have an upset tummy and its really wiping me out. Spent most of yesterday dozing in bed but all that laying down has given me back ache, typical. On the brightside my pelvis (which was slowly starting to get more painfull) has benifited. But apart from that I am actually feeling really well.

LL - good to see you feeling more positive, keep us updated xx

Good morning ladies :) Thanks for you word Notslass and Somnium, i am very lucky with my GP, yes he has started the ball rolling, he dictated the letter while i was there and gave me the form for the scan and also the one for prescription exemption which is great as mine runs out soon :)

All good today, feeling sick and boobs aching, constantly tired and don't like food at all at the moment! oh well making myself eat little and often as it does help with the nausea. Spent last night with my tummy feeling like it was being stretched and pulled?? massively bloated, so not eating is not worrying me as i have lots of surplus ! :)

Take care ladies, and thanks again for the caring and sensible heads here :)

Leopard Lady, am having much the same trouble with food as you! I'm feeling constantly sick, and a minute after finally deciding on something to eat - I won't fancy it anymore.

And my tummy seems huge too; I went to Evans to try on some trousers today & was horrified how huge I looked in the first pair so I gave up on the idea (for now). Being a size 24 already, I can see me living in jogging bottoms. I'm going to look a right chav! :o

I should add as I don't think I've posted on this thread (apologies if I have already said this) - I'm still waiting to hear from midwife. grr. No idea how many weeks gone I am, as I have pcos and can have as few as 2 periods in a year! My last blood tests said I wasn't even ovulating, and that was I think at the end of Aug / Sept time... if I'd have known it would take this long to get a scan, I would've paid for it privately!
