Thanks FE. Only a week max to go, so although I'm feeling sore, tired and uncomfortable I can manage that, with the help of chocolate and ice cream! I do find though that I symptom spot for labour just as much as during the 2ww! It must be a ttc+ kind of thing!
Just spoken to my medical insurers (well hubbie's insurers really as he gets cover for the whole family through his work) and although they don't pay out for the costs of a normal delivery, they will pay out for a c section done on medical grounds, and are going to pay us the difference in cost between what a normal delivery would have cost and the exorbitant surcharge for a c section, because the section is necessary due to position and size of the baby. Am really pleased about this, as I was feeling guilty about the extra costs of the section (private healthcare for the births being one of our very few extravagances as a family, following a horrid experience on the NHS) and I didn't expect it to be covered at all.0 -
Hello ladies,
Glad you had a great Holiday FE - its a shame that the job situation still stinks - worse case scenario could you stick the Birmingham job until you go on maternity leave - then had your notice in at the end !!!
I bet you've had enough now - the last couple of weeks are soooo uncomfortable - the only place that I felt comfy in was the bath !!! mind you I'm sure the choc & ice cream works wonders.lol
Good news re medical insurance paying to wards the birth - do you get a "posh en suite" etc thrown in as well ? TBH I'm thinking of paying the extra for a private room - my experiences of "Hotel NHS" isn't bad,but there's nothing worse than being kept awake by everyone Else's snoring and baby crying !!!
My pillow arrived yesterday - its great,went to sleep "hugging" it - OH is now officially redundant-lt doesn't snore,break wind or hog the duvet.lol0 -
Notsslas - am so glad you like the pillow. I love mine so much I want another one hehe, but not very mse! I sleep with mine between my knees and find it really helps with the back ache, altho moving in the night is a pain!
FE - Am pleased you had a good holiday, but sorry to hear that the work situation is awkward. And eek at the commute, there's no way I'd want that, not over the winter too! Oh and you need the body pillow, it really doesnt compare to the V pillow (I tried using that first).
Nicki - yeay on the health cover frontI'd love to have a private room too, not because i'm fussy about privacy but if I have to be in overnight I'd rather have my own space as I dont sleep well at the best of times, let alone all the disturbances of a ward.
Well had my 16 week MW appointment today, all is well and I got to hear bubs HB which was sooo fab. Everything is layed out for my next few appointments too so thats good. Now just looking forward to my scan in 3 weeks woohoo, can't wait to find out babys flavour, so exciting.Baby :female: Tahlie Lois born 15/3/10 7lb 12 oz :heartpulsWorking on baby no2

when I said extravagant I really did mean it! It's a private hospital, so there are no wards or shared rooms, and all the rooms are en suite with TVs, fridges, etc (like Travel Inn type standard). Food isn't bad either, particularly if you are feeling icky as they will make whatever you want for you, at whatever time of day you want it. The only time you would even notice there were other patients would be if you put the baby in the nursery to be looked after overnight, rather than have them room in, in which case if you went to pick them up yourself in the morning, you might meet another mum (though the nurses would deliver the baby to your room if you asked, though that's a bit too much like room service
)

Hi Evansangel & Congratulations!
Not too bad, thanks - just have to keep pinching myself to belive we have got this far! I'm still very tired though (although probably some of that is down to stress over the work situation) and really waiting/hoping for that 'burst of energy in the 2nd trimester' that the books keep promising me I will experience - LOL!
