    What's a GBGV?

    Do you know - I have wrestled a goat - in order to milk it, and I have caught my own dinner. Do I get hillbilly creds?;)

    Ok, so I'm back :cool:

    well done Jo1972
    Sounds like it went well, and you were honest.
    Fessing up to those close to us is not easy, but it is necessary.

    I struggle being honest with myself and other people - my natural instinct is to not tell the truth (even for minor things). A lot of it is a fear of not being liked/loved, so I say things to please people. That is dishonest, both to them and myself.
    I try and live as honesty as possible now - being honest with people, and also with myself.
    I could justify bad behaviour to myself (I am having a drink because I deserve it, I had a tough day, I had a good day, it's ABC's birthday etc etc) but that is dishonest. I was having a drink because I wanted to drink!!
    I now look at my actions closely, and especially at my motivations. Am i doing this because of XYZ, or am I really honestly doing it because of LMN? etc etc

    Makes life easier in the long run, though it can be uncomfortable. Life is not always easy, and being sober, not burying feelings and not running away from problems, means that part of sobriety is learning to live with being uncomfortable. However, without booze getting in the way, you get through these uncomfortable periods quickly, and with your dignity intact as you have been honest.

    Good luck my darling - you are a nice person, be nice to yourself.

    Oh you and BHB will get on like wildfire :D

    Can I ask, was the goat in your shower? BHB has a problem with goats in his shower sometimes ;) :rotfl:

    :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

    ETA: and ducklings in the en-suite wash basin, and goat kids in the bed, piglets in the living room, and lambs in the kitchen and a sheep in the car !!

    They look great. Thanks for the creds! Love the idea of a smallholding, but also appreciate how much work you have to put in. I admire that.
