Evening,
Just back from an AF meal out with a friend - she was driving so that made it easier for us both to be AF but - my word - we used to get sooooooo plastered together. This is the 2nd time we've been out and she's driven, so nice that we've found a new pattern to the friendship. Was worried that it wouldn't be possible to be friends AF, but there you go - you live and learn!
Welcome to DM and Geranium. Can honestly say I've never done the bed-wetting thing so suspect it might be a male thing.
Woke up in bed with my face in a puddle of vomit once (sorry if tmi!). Because I live alone, it scared the living daylights out of me - the thought of no memory of the cab ride home or going to bed, and that I could have choked to death. Was really careful for a while afterwards but of course the fear lessened over time and I fell back into the old habits.
Not this time though. Determined to stay on track.
Miss P - you've done so well, really admiring what you've achieved. Have to say, I'm becoming scared already of the point when I'm bored with me and being in my own head and want that escape - not sure what the answer is?
Any of the long-term AF-ers want to advise? Any help will be very gratefully received? All legal suggestions will be considered!

:hello:
Welcome to newbies (and oldies) Not AF tonight had a 's*d it' night as out today with a friend who takes me to cafes and garden centres for lunch when I would normally be in pubs.
I've had embarrassing drunken incidents much worse than wetting the bed but to tell you would definitely be TMI so will keep it to myself as a warning not to get into that state again!!!
'night all :A, will lurk over the weekend then be back to sign in on Monday, Miss P!
Thanks again Jo.0 -

Watched my programme and flicked between "How the other half live" I cried, needless to say! Watched a bit of Big Brother.....what drivel. Can't believe I actually followed it years ago. Maybe it was good then?
Hope you are all okay.
Much Love X
FH,
I have joined you with the couple glasses of wine tonight ! I agree with you on BB .... it was good way back then in the 1st, 2nd poss 3rd series but now is now def drivel if not total *****. I remember watching it back in 2000 when my eldest ( a millenium (sp?) baby:T) was very tiny and I was hooked . Every night without fail I would watch the highlights ... now I switch over .
Just looked at the clock ... it is past midnight ... better get to bed before I turn into ... a pumpkin ... or what happened to Cinderella at midnight ??? lost her shoes or something :T .... that happens to my 3 sons every morning:rotfl::rotfl:Oh 2 glasses of wine and I lose my marbles . Sweet Dreams everyone.:kisses3:.

Morning all
Just a quickie as off to do Mrs Mop Job this morning.
Hope everyone is ok and had more sleep than me. Portugese neighbours argued very loudly till midnight and then started again at 6am. I am ready to kill them. I will be calm....I will be calm......
Jo - I will definately be AF today so my final scores on the doors for July is 30 please!
GG - I too am discovering the benefits of AF nights out. Going out with OH tomorrow and am actually looking forward to the meal rather than the prospect of getting bladdered! I also find I'm rediscovering things I used to enjoy / do like cross-stitch (yes, I'm 35 going on 90!!), reading (and remembering the next morning what I've read without having to backtrack!), cooking, writing e-mails to friends ( non alcohol fuelled waffley ones). The list is growing every day. I'm not saying I may have blips, but I can honestly say that at the moment I am enjoying my life more. Things seem clearer...more defined. Its hard to explain and I probably sound like an idiot. Anyway, what I'm trying to say is, don't panic. You are doing brilliantly!
Maman - my mind boggles!!! What could be worse than wetting the bed!? Perhaps we should have an amnesty day and all admit an embarrassing drunken incident.....or maybe not. I'd have difficulty choosing one out of my plethora of incidents!
Oops, this was meant to be a quickie. Off to get me pinny on and get off to my SIL's. have good mornings all. Its Friday!!!!

Morning everyone. Haven't caught up, just dashing in to say I'm not going to get a jumpy and my total hasn't changed for 2 days.
Thanks for scoring Jo! Hope you stick around next month and don't suffer the scorer's after effects.0 -
Morning all:hello:
Jo , still on 11 days.
Miss P, Well done. I am so pleased for you. You deserve lots of jumpies:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j.

Thanks all for the welcome
Thought I should say why I am joining - I do think we spend far too much on alcohol and as I am also trying to lose weight seems like a good plan!
I have got in the habit of having a nice glass of wine, which can easily turn into a bottle in the evening - and I figure when you go to the doctor and work out what the answer should be to the question "how much do you drink" - rather than answering honestly - the time has come to consider why?
I have gone for 20 AF days which is perfectly doable - I may even manage more
I would like to get it down to having maybe a couple of drinks - just once a weekBack to comping! July wins: Frylight August wins: Pixar DVD, Diesel Watch,£75 hamper brioche products September wins bath soak
Thanks to everyone who posts comps and help :beer:0
