Hello! Got to get through today first.....(!) Will repost on 31/7 (assuming I don't raid the off-licence 2night!)...Once I'm 'in the swing' so to speak will probably look at 21 days AF in August.

Sorry, didn't mean to sound pushy. Was on computer at my mums and was trying to do a quick message!

Go with the flow and see what you feel you can do. Everyone is different. You could always leave it for August and then maybe join in September if you like when you have found your feet.

    Miss P
    xx

Well that's just typical isn't it. We hit our credit limit on our virgin package, so internet and phone went off (TV didn't ), rang up and paid the bill at 10am and have been waiting all morning for it to come back on. I decided to give up and do some housework, refreshed the pooter and it just came on :rotfl:

S'pose I'd better do some housework though :undecided just sat here doing nothing for the last 3.5 hours :rotfl:

ETA: Welcome debtmonkey  and welcome back Mari

I was incapable of saying no, I had financial worries, and was permanently knackered, and that's when I drank the most.
I got really down about it. Why couldn't I say no? Why was I drinking when there were consequences more than just a sore head?
    Why was I drinking more?

It was only when I got help for my condition and admitted I was alcoholic then I could break the cycle.
It's not an easy cycle to break, good luck.

Thank you Graeme, that is so like me, this is why I know that I must break the cycle starting now!! I would really like to talk to my GP but an acquantence (sp) works at the surgery and I have often suspected that they know things I wouldn't want them to. This is certainly not something I want her gossiping about.

Anyway today is looking good, I am being taxi tonight and wont be back til gone 11 so that will prevent me from drinking :D

:hello:Hi Jo thanks for the welcome back, I try and keep posting this time even if things arn't going the way I want them to!
  • 1)-Tasting/smelling on your breath a stale 'booze' smell in morning
    2)-crap sleep!
3)-Puffed up face & bags under eyes
    4)-raw sick feeling in stomach
5)-Not being able to face people in the morning
6)-If at work trying to keep as far away from collegues as possible in the am in case they can smell booze on you from night before
7)-Worrying that you are over the limit in the morning & not being able to drive
8)-THE SMELL! As alcohol is excreted through the skin your swaet/general smell is not nice the next day
    9)-That depressed, down feeling
10)-the fog/general 'woozy' feeling in your head

Hi everyone, just popping on to declare at 14 for the month 6 under target.

Trying again for 20 next month will try harder, not sure what happened this month, it is my lowest number of AFD for ages. Maybe because I took my eye off the ball a bit and left the thread for a while too?

Welcome DM! Another monkey eh? Welcome to the madness!

Hope everyone else is ok, will catch up later properly as at work now!

I'm still not sure that I want to put down a number for August. I may just take it day by day this month. I still have a stock of AF alternatives in the cupboard.

Mrs BHB was just reading over my shoulder and has said I should put down a figure of 12, so there we have it :D:rolleyes: The boss has spoken .... 12 it is

Its just so much harder not being in my 'proper work' routine for 6 weeks. I'm doing more hours work, just earlier in the day instead of the normal split shift that I do during term time.

Anyway ... better not let her down :eek::eek::eek::eek: ;)

No, it's because I was scoring and didn't do a very good job of keeping everyone on their toes :D I think I'm too laid back to be in charge ;)

Miss P, on that note, I am going to bow out of the August challenge :o hope you don't mind. I shall still be here bothering you all daily as usual, just to keep up with what's going on with my mates and not getting myself stressed with too much pressure....is that okay?

FUAS, Don't worry about coming in under target, you usually do amazingly well and as it's the summer months it's harder to say no, well except in the winter months when a hot toddy or a celebratery (sp?) xmas, new year, halloween, valentine, sunday, or in fact any day needs drinking to :D xx
